I have loved and I have lost. I have had crushes and thought I would die if my love was not returned. I have been disappointed and I have had heart ache. It's a funny thing when our heart is racing when we see the one we love or have a crush on. Life is so wonderful when we are in love and especially when that love is returned.
Sometimes it seems we can't control our hearts. We don't always fall in love with people we want to. Sometimes we know better in our heads but we make fools out of ourselves because of our hearts. I have made many financial mistakes because of my heart, but I know God knows my heart and he knows it is always in the right place even if an accountant would disagree.
Heart ache is awful. Our heart aches when the person we adore doesn't even know we are alive. Our heart aches when our loved ones are away. Our heart breaks when a love affair dies. Our hearts shatter when our loved ones die.
Despite the heartaches, many say it is better to love and lost than to never have loved at all. Many love themselves so much it is hard for them to love others.
Our emotions come from our hearts, our reasoning comes from our brain. So often the two have different opinons. Sometimes the heart doesn't want to listen to the brain. Sometimes the heart just doesn't want to give up.
When I hear sad things my heart gets heavy. When I hear things that make me angry my heart gets hard. When I think of people I have loved and who have passed away my heart aches to hear their voice again or see their face or hold them in my arms. When I hear good news my heart leaps and gets light and smiles light up my face. When my Grandson was born I was so happy I jumped up and down like a little kid.
It is amazing how our hearts react to so many things we go through in our lives. I can say that having a kind heart is good, an understanding heart helps, and a heart that forgives is the best.
Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. God knows our hearts and he wants us to have forgiving hearts as he does. Forgive and you shall be forgiven.
