And so it goes…my uncle , whom I introduced you just last week, was moved to a Hospice facility last night and passed over @midnight
I think he was waiting for the right time to leave…when he was alone and not surrounded by anyone-he would not want to inconvenience anyone - I suspect.
A true host and gentleman, he did not abandon any of us-valiantly interacting with us all as best he could;staying connected by the common thread of friend and family.
I am so happy I got to see him and to speak to him at length. I spoke to him about what he meant to me and what he will always mean to me. I have no regrets because I did say the important things-the things that were nestled in my heart to be shared with him in our last few, as it turns out, alone moments.
I am not sad at all. Yes I will miss him and I will always remember him. I have had the good fortune of knowing a good man.
I bid him farewell and Godspeed for now. He goes ahead of those of us who wait and is just “around the corner”, just out of our eyesight. But he is there. He is free of pain and worry, waiting.
That’s why I rejoice and I am not sad at all.

Into that new and larger life of a serener sphere.
And ever near us though unseen their dear immortal spirits tread.
For all the boundless universe is life. There are no dead."
Selected lines from There Is No Death by J.L. Mccreery
It is both a priviledge and a blessing to be able to say goodbye and share heart feelings with someone about to leave this life. I am happy for you and also for your dear Uncle.

Resting Place
Angels are sent with wings of comfort
to take you to your resting place
no longer trapped in muted silence
free to roam in spirit form
no longer crying to be understood and heard.
Trying to communicate without any words.
Do not be afraid to let go
time is drawing near to say good-bye
to this world far away from paradise
where pain does not exist.
Laying there in waiting
in God's embrace
angels are watching over you
while you sleep
the memories of love
will always keep living.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was very touched by how you told your uncle how much he meant to you. I know people who have regrets because they did not take advantage of that last opportunity to converse with a special person, and as a result, never got to say any of the things that are important.
You have my deepest sympathy~
