Was one of the shortest, but I'm an emotional type, so I dwell on it every once in awhile.
I've fought fires, saved lives, won and lost fights, and the list of stupid crap that the average teenager in highschool thinks of doing, but knows better, but this one moment stands out.
It was near the end of August this year, and me, my buddy, and his girlfriend had left for some early morning fishing.
We didn't catch anything. He let a few catfish go, and I lost a massive fish that snapped my line as me and my buddy tried to reel him in.
We needed to stop in a grocery store for something, I can't remember, but we pulled up behind a car with a yellow 'Support Our Troops' magnet on the back.
He gave my shoulder a quick shake and loudly announced "that's what I'm getting for my car when David gets in!"
There was no, 'if David gets in,' it was 'when David gets in!'. He's planning on joining up after college, so I hope to be chilling with him again in a few.
To think, the glorious Government deported my buddy and his family once. He's more patriotic than I am for crying out loud! And he's planning on joining up, and he says his father is thinking about it too.
It's just one of those moments... no idea...
