Fire Next Door

Last night I was awaken by noises outside the house and what sounded a like shutting doors.  I tried to go back to sleep only to hear firetrucks.  No biggie, the fire station is just a block away.  Then I saw heard them pull up infront of the house and the lights elluminated the room.  I peaked out my window to see people outside and firemen walking towards the house next door.
  At that point I turned on the light.  It was midnight exactly according to my watch.  Despite my attempts to go back to sleep, I didn't until about 3 AM and I have missed classes today because I am just so worn out.  Everyone is safe, that's the good part.

The kids bedroom is badly damaged from what I have heard since that's where the fire started but the two of them got out of there unharmed.

Once I looked out the window and fire was SHOOTING out of a window of the apartment building across the alley. I quickly shut all my windows to keep the smoke out. It was amazing the fire only affected one apartment over there. They build things pretty compartmentalized, I guess.

That is so sad. Glad that the family was okay. Sorry that you lost your sleep. Hopefully, you got to rest up and did not miss too much in classes.
