Good morning everyone.  Tuesday is here and it looks like another nice day in Iowa.  I had a change of schedule from my normal Tuesday morning volunteering at school and will be going tomorrow instead.  I had problems with my fibro yesterday and hope today is better.

What are your plans for the day?  Come on in and sit a spell and chat over your morning coffee.

Fruit is great. Activia has a can of sliced grapefruit, both kinds. I had some yesterday and it was good. I keep canned fruit on hand for when we don't have any fresh. Nectarines were good this year. One store sold them regularly for 49 cents a pound and they really were delicious and large.
Oops, I meant, NOW really big.

Audrey he was VERY excited! Yesterday was his forst official day, but i drove him in to make sure he found his classroom etc.
And, on Sunday he was wrestling with his brother and they broke a coffee cup so Randy ended up in the Er for 20+ stitches in the back of his hand, and i wanted to make sure the teacher knew if he needed me I would be there to get him, but of course THAT was just silly of me to think i was NEEDED! : (

Mom, I know what you mean. My grandma used to make killer chocolate chip cookies, fluffy, almost like cakes, with cream cheese frosting, but it was the love she put in them that I remember the most!

My neighbor was asking me how large a territory do cardinals keep? I don't know, only that they are territorial and usually only one male allowed in an area. We have two distinct male cardinals who come to our back yard. Maybe the smaller one, who still looks grown is the son. I don't know. Does anyone know this?

Yeah and there were lots more inside! Full length the back of his little hand and it gashed about 3/4 of an inch wide! He was a trooper!
I have been a mom for less than a month away from 18 years now and this was my first stitches!!
Broken bones a few times but no stitches!
For being only 4 he did spectacular! Only cried when they gave the numbing shots!
Lynn, have you been to www.youtube.com? Most of the videos that are passed around the internet are from here. I usually browse the "comedy" section. Some of them are dull but once in a while there are some gut-busters to see.

I have a pair of cardinals that have been in my yard for quite a few years. I know they hatch young ones every year but they never hang around. I suppose the older ones take them somewhere else.

Poor little guy. 20 stitches is huge in itself. That large a gash though. I bet you didn't waste time getting to the emergency room. Some of the doctors offices here don't do stitches. Send you straight on to the hospital. Can you believe that?

Cindi, it is lucky that no crucial tendons or nerves were cut.
I don't remember seeing any Cardinals here, I bet they are pretty! We have burrowing owls, road runners, and quail. It's fun to watch the quail and all their brood following them, like soldiers marching with their top hats at attention. lol

When the baby cardinals were old enough to fly this year, the Mama and Daddy would come first into the yard and perch on the fence a particular pole in the vegetable garden, one on each, and then you'd see all the babies come to the feeder. It was so much fun to watch. The parents stood guard while they ate.

I posted a contriversal article last night and spent half the night discussing the authorship of the article. not the article, the authorship. It got falgged for (other) whatever (other) means. It suprised me no one wanted to talk about the article but the authorship.

Lynn we are an hour away from teh dr's office and 20 minutes from the ER so it wasn
t a hard choice there, even if it does cost more!

I had to let two dogs out, and while doing noticed a bird feeder was empty. Still a lot of beautiful roses out there. I didn't know roadrunners were really real either. People who have 5 children are very brave. I might have, it just didn't work out that way. I wanted my own baseball team. But I have one grown. 31 just a couple of weeks ago.

GG, I would love to meet your quilting group. My grandmother quilted and taught it to my mother who also quilted. It didn't rub off on me. I do have my poem about a story my mom told me about grandma's quilts.
There are always different materials in the different parts of the county, that's why fat quarter swaps around the country are so popular.

Timothy, As far as I can tell, there is no such thing as getting the luxury of going to the bathroom alone as long as there are children or worse, dogs in the house. All of them want to go with us. Some of the dogs know how to knock at the door knob to actually get it. As a matter of fact, so do the cats. Give up. It can't be done. Maybe a deadbolt. I feel for you.
