What made you start paranormal investigating?

I'm unsure to be honest. It was quite a while ago. I always was interested in ghosts, got out this book where it gave directions to the places.

Before I knew it I had photocopied the areas where we might vacation and when vacation planning came around I'd pull out that binder and see where we might be able to investigate. Now I still do that, only it's with Chad Lewis' Haunter Road Guide to Wisconsin and with my husband and son.

We investigated in Steven's Point last month (as soon as I get my PC back I'll write about those spots) and next month we attend a wedding in Appleton and will hit a few areas there as well as stop by Witch Road for the third time.

I am interested in the paranormal. I don't feel it or anything I just think it is a very interesting subject and believe in it.

Ok... I've only gone with my sis a few times... I have seen with my own eyes very strange things and I have literally felt even more than I've seen... My sister swears I have a 6th sense but to me it's always been normal... When I went for the first time I was sitting in a closet (well in the doorway) and someone kept messing with my hair... On video they have something moving behind me and you can see my hair moving...

I just find the whole subject very interesting.

Jennifer, I never heard of those places- but I have seen quite a few of your photos and you have been to a few good ones.

Danielle, it is a fascinating subject and one that eventually gets all of us.

Nicole, I think what makes it s interesting is the fact that it is still the unknown. We go out, take pictures , argue what it could be and in the end ....we still dont know!!

To be honest, Donna, I never became interested in you until I came in contact with you here on Gahter. Now, I try to watch the good ghost hunting shows. (Thanks to you, I can seprate the good from the badl)

Donna, we must get together and go ghost hunting! I'll have to have a night-life, though.

It is a shame that you don't live closer Amanda!! we would probably have fun. As for a nightlife!! I am the party pooper!!! I leave earlier than the others, I suffer from exhaustion to begin with!! sometimes I feel bad, but they did know this going in!!

As for the good and the bad, most people thinking of hauntings as evil and that is not the case in most parts. Some of these "spirits" might not even be "ghosts" and it could just be residual energy captured in some form.

The other night we were on a investigation and started joking imagine if our voices were somehow recorded from the night before and we picked it up that night- I did read of an experiment where that did happen. In that case it turned out that the building materials "recorded" the singing in a church and at night it "played" it back.

ps...In my house, I do not believe the energy is residual, but intelligent and interactive.

Since I was about four years old and saw the nun standing in my bedroon door. I have a 6th sense and often know things that are going to happen well before they do. I'm used to it, even though my gift is a little unerving at times. Crazy dreams, orbs in photo's etc. I embrace investigations, I havn't done much since March, but I am sooooo ready to get back on track!!

I've just always been interested in ghosts and spirits. I don't know why, I just do. I think my mother might have a lot to do with it, we'd watch sightings, and unsolved mysteries together and our fav parts were the ghost stories.

Donna, wow- did you live near an old convent or church? As for not going out that much...tis the season!

Trista, I love those shows. When I was little I would watch movies with my parents, the paranormal shows just wasn't really there yet. We did have a few specials but nothing like today.

I have always been sensitive to locations and to people....
I seem especially sensitive to shady people. I also talk to the dead...My uncle was bugging me about my aunt going through with her knee surgery a year after he passed...he didn't stop bugging me until she had the surgery...
I've never really been afraid ...my family members that have passed over are always around to watch over me.

Sensitive to smells also...my dog passed away in mid August and I smelled her two days later...her name was Vanilla Bean....I was outside and vanilla around me but she came through with her scent and a brush against my check.

That would be shadow people not shady...although....

G. Frankovitch, I have been sensitive to smells at times. At GB, I was smelling stuff no one was. This has happened a few times.

I've never heard of housing material playing back trapped sounds before. I just want to figure out things are happening. Plus, it's interesting to find out why a haunting might be occuring.

I think it was starting to see things in the hosp when I was 18. I didnt know mom and her great grandma seen spirits too.
after dad died we started reading more and things started hopping after we started planning a wedding after we married my hubby and I and mom felt and seen alot.
lucky my hubby lived in a haunted apt building that had a strange past in Ma.

Charles, there was an article(not on here) about this church and music being sung at night. Sure enough , they did some investigating and they heard it..then they realized it was the music that the choir had sung during the day..now how this happens ?????, but if you think about it. Some places are built on areas where materials might be..i.e. quartz, granite and sometimes this might cause these recorded effects..as in Residual Hauntings.

Mary, I think my mother saw things also..but yet did not believe?? I have lived in a few active homes...not sure about their histories.

well because I love to watch taps and then when we went to St Augustine it made me want to do it more. It was fun and interesting. We paid to go on a ghost tour but we had so much fun that we did it on our own.

Sonia, I love watching Taps also. I go on the tours at night alot, because it is alot safer than a woman and her daughter going into some of these places alone...rule for me: never go into dark streets by yourself!! I follow it pretty well. This past weekend I probably would have not gone where we did if I had been alone. I am more afraid of crime, than the ghost! during the day...well we go everywhere!!

As for the Taps episode of St Augustine...I had booked that months pror to that one and when I saw it..I was like...quick..come here..look that's where we are going!! and the poor kid was -why!

The subject just interests me. I have lived in a couple of haunted houses.
