Why can't I decide what I want to do with...

Ok... I have gone to college 3 times trying to come up with what I want to do for the rest of my life... I'm 23 and still don't know what I want to be when I grow up... LOL... Ok here's the whole story... So fresh out of high school and all I want to do is join the USMC... I've done all the nessecary things like made an outstanding score on my ASVAB and can run 3 miles without slowing down... Well my mom freaks and says she'll pay for my schooling and begs me to stay home... She says give it 2 years and I'll change my mind... So I go to school for criminal justice... Ok I get in class and I know more than the teacher does and I slowly stop going... Long story short I fail for non-attendance and I never made below a 100% on anything in that class... SUCK... LOL... Then I decide ok criminal justice isn't for me... And I go to school for interior design... I took 9 hours that semester and learned NOTHING... The head of the department was an idiot... People were failing left and right because he failed to tell anyone they needed to be taking intro and color and design at the same time... MY MY... Ok now I have taken all I need for my personal training and I have a test to take... But it was in means to getting my culinary degree and opening up a gym and restraunt geared towards a healthy lifestyle... Now I've realized that's not what I want to do with my entire life either... Now my mom is suggesting the one thing that sounds like something I could do for the rest of my life... An English Professor... Hmmm... Sounds like something I really could do... Something I would love to do... But now I am so scared to go back to school and scared I will hate it... I don't know what else to do... And I could follow through with any of the afore mentioned majors...

some times you just have to "man up" or in this case woman up!! if it is what you really really want you will do it even if the teachers suck and the school sucks and the money isn't there you will do it if that's your hearts desire. The only difference between those that are in their dream jobs and those struggling is that they go after it with every thing in them, or just get lucky some times that happens too. I am 51 and I still don't have a plan or goals for my life. I have been a spectator in my own life. You go after what YOU want and don't let anything steer you off course. Like they say this is the real deal not the dress reheasal!!!! good luck!!!

Girl.... I know how how you feel I believe an english teacher will be a amazing choice for you... You know so much about the subject that you could help so many peopler learn to love it as much as you... being a professor gym owner personal trainer any of them you would be amazing at!!! you still have plenty of time to decide what you want to do.. no real rush lol!! I will support you in any choice you make LOVE YA

Thanks babe and thanks nancy... English prof sounds SO GOOD... And I never really though about it until my mom said... What do you love?... My answer, Books... I love BOOKS... Poetry, history, horror, sci-fi, just about any type of book and I LOVED LITERATURE, any lit class- I took Women in Lit. twice in high school... I know I'm a nerd

Do you know how many times I changed my major? Well, we won't go there. I went
back to school after being out for ages and graduated magna cum from Culinary Arts
school, I was in my late thirties at the time.

I wish I had waited a couple of years before college. By the time I was about to walk across the stage and get the diploma I realized I didn't want to do this. No wonder I'm a federal government lacky!!!!!
