It’s over. My vote whoring, that is. This bouquet, from my garden is my gesture of thanks for supporting me during the intense first round, of the First Chapter's Competition.
I’m humbled by the outpouring of comments of every description and moved by your willingness to take the time to read; Peace, Love and Chocolate. If I've alienated any of my connections during my aggressive lobbying, I apologize.
Writing is a solitary act. It's easy to fall prey to self doubt and other demons. A pat on the back is a welcome balm but constructive criticism is golden.
This bouquet also goes out to each of the 296 contestants. Every single one deserves to be acknowledged. It’s not easy to complete a novel and submit it for public scrutiny. I wish my fellow writers a long and fruitful writing life.
I hope to make it into round two but win or lose, I will continue to write, to “taste life twice”.

Good luck Layla!!
One thing I do know is that old 70s shampoo commercial is right 'and she told 2 friends. And they told 2 friends...and so on and so on...' I've met so many great people in the last few weeks. Don't know if I'll move on (do I even want to??? LOL. Exhausting to even think about)), but I do know I've found so readers for the day I do get published, whether through this site or the conventional way.
Best of luck Hon.

Susan, thanks, you lovely Gather Guide!
I just wanted to stop by since I am finally going through what is now listed as under 4,600 pieces of gather new mail that is sitting in my inbox on here.
With that mentioned I just came across either a mailing from you yourself, or someone else brought this piece to my attention. You or they felt that your creation should be shared with the gather community, which I am very glad that it was passed on to me to view. So I wanted to say Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to publish it here on gather for us to all view. :o)
As well before I leave you I wanted to wish you a Happy New Year... in 2009 :o)
