Myspace is great. One can do many things, gain valuable associates, and influence the public. Another good one is Facebook.

i am a product of finding a job on myspace!!! i found a friend that i went to high school and college with, added her, told her i was looking to relocate back home, she told me to email her boss, and within a week i had a new job!

what's very cool is that if you use myspace.com, (linkedin is more business oriented/career oriented than friend oriented) and even facebook and other social networking sites -- gather seems to have morphed into one as well-- you can connect with people. Also check out some of the sites like styledujour.com if you are into the fashion mode. want more musically inclined friends? check out haystack.com..

I have been doing myspace well over a year.. plus other sites--- yahoo groups, fitness groups, and the same spots mentioned above and even stylehive.com which are all social networking and yet also revolve around networking too.

It helps my writing, my blogs (I have 2.. www.la-story.com and www.coolpicking.com ) as well as the pieces I submit here

you might want to think about going through your personal online address books and add those people to your own network here

Thanks Larry, after all you can utilize social networking to promote everything, including sports! To answer the question about LinkedIn, basically it is more geared to people wanted to connect professionally such as from places of employment, college, and so forth. Some of the other sites are more personal, with MySpace perhaps being the other extreme where people are connecting more for fun and games and other things than networking for career purposes. Social networking runs the gamut.

I'm a member of so many sites, I can't keep track.. once I get my website updated I plan to devote more time to trying to get contacts and build downlines for all the zillions of sites I'm involved in LOL maybe finally make some real money ..eventually.

Hey Suze and others, you are more than welcome. I use an Excel spreadsheet plus my email folders to keep up with everything, including passwords (scrambled), usernames, email addy signed up with, referral URLs, name of site, type of site, and so on. Stephen

I love social networking as a way to connect with people all over the world who are interested in the environment, social justice and just having fun! Recently, I joined a new site called Pledging for Change. It has a unique way to support charitable organizations while advertising ethical, sustainable businesses. I like that it's taking social networking to a whole new level!
