A Scandalous Overture
But mainstream movies and music almost always has the color-by-numbers feel where the song or movie was created using a formula that makes it sound like or look like everything else that the media companies are puking out their doors.
Of course, if the topic of a film is interesting to me, I'll invest in the ticket price of the movies of the Hollywood Big Boys. (But not for the "STAR".)
I do like some vocalists. Sade, Natalie Merchant, those deadpan Brazilian female singers (ala' Brasil 66) Bossa Nova, classical, I guess I'm an eclectic niche market listener. Either my ipod or streaming audio. The radio makes me ill.
Three Alarm Tenant
But for music, I'm all over the place. I like Salem Blues, 1950's hillbilly pop, folk, ragtime, top 40, glam rock, and the most oddball of all: filk.
but mainstream attracts me
