I sit upon a hill staring out at the sky,
You're there upon a cloud but you just keep drifting by.
I reach to touch your hand but already you have gone,
My cloud of happiness has dissolved, I'm all alone.
I know not what your name is where you're from or where you'll go.
And in my world of fantasies I guess I’ll never know.
As you drift across the countryside for everone to see,
Perhaps tomorrow you will return to my lonely hill and me……

I just lost my wife recently and I ask your permission to borrow your first 4 lines to share with my family with your name as the author. It is so apropos in my case and I loved it.
Many thanks for sharing with us and welcome to Gather..

Welcome to Gather. You will find this the place for poets, so I think you'll enjoy it.
All types of writers, literary and poetry groups, but maybe Nan has told you about that.
