Thanks for the heads up Timothy!
Thanks for making us aware of these recalls. You do a wonderful thing here. I am so alert now when purchasing toys. I had heard yesterday that our toy manufactures feel they will have the problems sorted out in time for christmas shopping. By now I am almost always nearly finished. This year I have not begun because of the recalls.
Right On!! Thanks for posting more of the CRAP that Communist China makes and tries to pawn off as quality goods to the American consumer!
BOYCOTT ALL COMMUNIST CHINESE MADE PRODUCTS. CHECK WHERE EVERY PRODUCT THAT YOU BUY IS MANUFACTURED - BEFORE YOU BUY IT!!!! AND...BUY AMERICAN!!!
Tim, post this to BUY AMERICAN and I'll feature it.
I'm not as gung-ho about BUYING AMERICAN as you are Lynn but I totally agree with the rest of it. Manufacturers, whether they're in Shanghai or Chicago, Tokyo or Toronto, need to pick up their game and do more to make sure they're not building dangerous or faulty products.
And since a lot of these problems are caused by design faults rather than manufacturing faults, the people and companies that design these products need to pick up their game too.
Great article, Tim. Your best one yet! Thanks for getting the word out about these recalls.
I realize that this is totally irrelevant to the topic, but just out of curiosity what do you do for a living?
Ditto, what Spartan said.
I was wondering what you do for a living also.
I didn't realize there were any requirements for how much profile was filled in before we were allowed to share opinions here at Gather. If it makes you feel better, I've added more info to my profile. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
"Who's your Pimp, Wil?"
I don't have one, Spartan. Do you?
" Wil, are you a lobbyist?"
No Sparky, I'm not a lobbyist.
Well then I guess it's a good thing I've gone and added more info to my profile.
I haven't been participating here at Gather very long, so maybe you can give me some advice. Do you think I should start reading more peoples' profiles to help me decide whether I think they're credible or not? I guess I've just been assuming people are telling the truth unless I know for sure that they aren't.
If I do, I mustn't be the only one, because I've been reading a bunch of profiles lately (including yours, Tim) and lots of people don't say anything about where they work or what they do for a living.
I've already told you Tim, I won't be bullied into posting information about my personal life if I choose not to. I think it's ridiculous that not only do people like yourself think you have a right to demand that people post personal information about themselves, but that if they don't post enough information to satisfy you, you just make stuff up.
In the short time I've been posting here at Gather, I've been hassled about where I live, my citizenship status, whether the pics I've posted are really me, about where I work and what I do for a living. I can't even count the number of different (and often conflicting) accusations you've made about me, and the simple truth is you can't back up any of them.
When you first asked me what I do for a living (after already making a number of totally unfounded accusations about what you thought I might do for a living), I said I'd think about whether I wanted to share that info with you and the rest of the Gather community while you answered questions and addressed points I'd already raised and you'd chosen to ignore. You chose not to.
In the end, I decided I didn't really mind sharing info about my job, but so far I haven't done it because I'm stubborn and I because I don't like it when people try to be bullies.
Wah..wah..wah. Wipe the tears from your eyes and then come back with a more mature response, that is if you're capable of such.
"He obviously has a stake in Chinese-made imports."
"Wil's message is "Buy Chinese" That's the message that he is being payed to convey."
"Colonel.....do you actually believe that this guy lives in Australia?"
"You people can slap me around all you want, but in no way are you going to discourage me from posting about these issues."
"I'm on to your intentions Wil. You must be warned that you're not dealing with the average village idiot here."
"And your sarcastic, idiotic attempt to make me look like a fool for posting about that recall was quite lame."
"Here again is an obvious attempt on your part to try to discourage me from posting about this issue."
"Wil's boss is probably paying him to comment here in the first place !"
"Wil..I have come to the conclusion that you have some sort of mental disability."
"I'm not at all sure if he may just be some little kid getting his kicks from all of this."
"Whoever or whatever Wil is..it's obvious that he's a trained professional in the art of internet debate and quite possibly a lawer."
"I would suggest that you go back over there and challange him to reply to that link, but he would more than likely turn the question back on you and make you look like a fool. That's what he does the best."
"More than likely, you are no more than some 14 year old little kid who gets his/ her kicks from such."
" Wil.....loaded and twisted indeed, whether you'll admit it or not. You are and expert at this and I'm not the only one who is on to it."
"Wil's job is to make me look like a bad guy for posting about the recent recalls of Chinese products"
"Jonathan..I have no clue who Wil is or what he's trying to accomplish."
"Wil..Quit harrassing the Colonel as well as myself."
"But then again Wil..it's obvious that you have no concept of common sense."
"Wil..how much are you being paid to advocate for amnesty for illegal immigrants?"
"In fact, whoever is paying you to squelch me should actually fire you because you have failed."
"Again you are attempting to make me look like the bad guy for posting about the Chinese recalls. Again it's obvious that you are blogging on behalf of someone to advocate for Chinese imports and if you deny that, you are an outright liar."
"Considering all of the above, it's obvious that Wil is blogging for either a political party, or perhaps on the behalf of big buisness or perhaps both. And it's obvious that he is doing his best to discourage me from posting..but it ain't working."
And on and on it goes. And I know I'm not the only one. You make wild, completely unfounded accusations about lots of other people too. If they don't agree with you, they must be paid professionals (or mentally disabled teenagers) deliberately twisting things and making you look like a fool.
You post a lot of good stuff, Tim. I just don't understand what you're trying to accomplish by going off on all these personal attacks.
Here, I'll start. This isn't in my profile I don't think. Maybe it is. I'll check. I work for a consortium that does drug and alcohol testing for DOT, Aviation and Non-DOT companies.
And before anyone asks, NO I don't think the Mexican drivers that are free to cross our borders and drive from Mexico to Canada and from Ocean to Ocean are going to be required by law to take these drug and alcohol tests from what I understand.
You're right, Lynn. I didn't have to list my company, just like I don't have to list my occupation.
I understand if it seems a bit rude (or whatever) not to, but I really don't think much of the way Tim (and others) try to insist that people post personal information about themselves. Whether it's occupation, gender, nationality, or whatever I really don't think it's appropriate to hassle people if they choose not to share that info with the community.
I do post comments and questions, though. That's called participating in discussions.
Maybe if you weren't so busy making all those baseless accusations, you'd have more time to devote to discussing what was supposed to be the topic of the discussion. I see there has been a recall of ice tea makers that can start fires, and a recall of ground meat that may have pieces of metal in it. Pieces of metal??? Damn!
P.S Don't feed the troll...;O)
And you'd be wrong on all counts. But then if I were a guessing man I would have to say you're probably used to that, Bob.
