I am rather annoyed. I loaned my thumb drive to someone else to transfer a file. When I got it back, my files on the thumb drive were all gone. I asked that person what happened, and the answer was, "Oh, I deleted them. What were they?"
Well, you don't just delete other people's stuff and THEN ask what they were!
I can't recreate those files because they were some executables and I honestly don't remember what was on the thumb drive. I guess I will find out when I need something someday and couldn't find it.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the term thumb drive, they're also called jump drives, flash drives, USB drives, and several other names. Basically it's a little portable gadget about the size of your thumb that you can plug into a usb port and download a file onto, either to free up hard drive space or to transfer it to another computer.
BTW - a thumb drive is another term for a memory stick or flash drive that plugs into a USB port.
Janet - I cannot believe it!! That is just low. She should go buy her own copies... I have money out that never returns too.
Too bad you didn't back up the files on something else - I usually do that, just in case the device becomes damaged and unusable. Come to think of it, I didn't start doing that until years ago, when I lost some stuff on some floppy disks that became damaged. Apparently, we need to experience unfortunate events to get us to prevent their repeat occurrence.
Btw, I don't see where it was rude to delete the files. It was downright inconsiderate.
It was not full. Only 5 out of 512 MB was used previously.
