With Halloween just around the corner, just a fun thing.....
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE HALLOWEEN COSTUME YOU EVER MADE OR WORE?
Mine: When I was in 6th grade, I was the unpopular fat kid that nobody liked and my dad got me the coolest costume. It was this really scary rubber head of a big bad wolf, a yellow zuit suit coat and yellow/green/red plaid pants and these big bad wolf shoes. There was a gangster hat and a large rubber cigar. I wore white gloves and was totally covered up in costume with none of ME sticking out at all.
When the teacher went around the room guessing who we all were and awarding prizes, she and the class did not even know me until last and I won the class prize for best costume and then went on to win best costume in the school.
It was just a great feeling to be the best at something that year that was so terrible in my life being the "fat kid".
I lost 50 lbs over that summer before going to middle school and all was fun and good the rest of my school years.....funny how weight matters to kids and their friendships.

While I have kids I take trick or treating now, I still take pleasure in scaring the hell out of people after they are ready to go home. It's fun and doesn't take much out of you. All I need to do is stand there and stare from a dark place but where you will be noticed. Simply slowly cock your head from time to time very slowly once you catch someones glance and slowly walk towards them. My adviced, don't do this around children, if they see their parents scared, they will be horrified and have nightmares. Finally as they flee, follow them for a short while with soft but purposeful steps (not to fast, a horror villian can always catch their pray without running).
I have already had a woman who is a cose friend and neighbor let her dogs after me (we laugh about it now, I'm alright) and I am aware that one of these Halloweens, I will probably get shot, but until then, it's a great night to have some fun. It is a shame that so many people today think that fun needs to be destructive. Anyway, please save me your Mild Duds. Yours - Patrick
I'll come back and play this gave a month and a half from now. In the meantime I gave you ten stars to hold my place.
(oh my)
My favorite though was after I left my dad's. I went to a party as a gypsy. I had big gold jewelry and this peasant like dress. I LOVED it! My aunt always had a collection of outfits, old clothing and different items. They would go to dress up parties and dinners with themes. So, I had a lot to chose from. That was by far my favorite though with bright pink lipstick and lots of makeup it was great.
My oldest son has won costume contests almost every year and I loved all of them, but my favorite was the year I made him a paratrooper, dressing him in camo, carring a wooden rifle, and above his head floated his parachute, made out of helium filled long balloons that were a real TREAT tO tie together. there were some major inconviences with this costume; he had to stand just so or the wind really tangled it up. It ruined most of the events we tried to do, but he still loved it.
Now that I have kids I make sure they alsway have a COOL costume.
