POLL: FAVORITE HALLOWEEN COSTUME

My favorite was an old ballet costume I had with a bright red skirt, a faux lace up corset, etc. It was rather bavarian looking, but all in red, black, and white. I ratted up the ends of the skirt, pulled the neckline off the shoulders, added black ballet slippers and fishnet tights, and I was a pirate's wench. :) I think I was 15?

I dressed up as a garbage can once and it was really fun, Kinda gross but fun nonetheless

One year, I was an Indian Princess (I even think I have a picture somewhere), one year I was a cheerleader (which was very cool). One year (I think it was 5th grade) I cut out a bat out of cardboard and wore it like a sandwich board, I carried a baseball glove and wore a baseball hat and wore a baseball team t-shirt. My all-purpose college halloween costume was surgical scrubs and a children's doctor kit. Most-recently, I bought a tiara on e-bay and wore it all day.

An excellent subject for conversation whilst eating lunch. Undoubtedly It is my Michael Myers (a.k.a. Halloween the Movie villian) costume. I have the mask, dirtied from years of use, so it actually looks like the movie mask (before Rob Zombie had his say in the new film), my workbooks of course, which were clean for about 12 hours, and the 1 piece union suit or gas station outfit, whichever you prefer, dirtied by 15 years of Halloween nights. Finally, a very real looking plastic kitchen knife. As an aside, if you want a real looking knife, spraypaint the blade Krylon Chrome.

While I have kids I take trick or treating now, I still take pleasure in scaring the hell out of people after they are ready to go home. It's fun and doesn't take much out of you. All I need to do is stand there and stare from a dark place but where you will be noticed. Simply slowly cock your head from time to time very slowly once you catch someones glance and slowly walk towards them. My adviced, don't do this around children, if they see their parents scared, they will be horrified and have nightmares. Finally as they flee, follow them for a short while with soft but purposeful steps (not to fast, a horror villian can always catch their pray without running).

I have already had a woman who is a cose friend and neighbor let her dogs after me (we laugh about it now, I'm alright) and I am aware that one of these Halloweens, I will probably get shot, but until then, it's a great night to have some fun. It is a shame that so many people today think that fun needs to be destructive. Anyway, please save me your Mild Duds. Yours - Patrick

Halloween is NOT just around the corner. !!!!!

When my daughter was in her teens she had a french maid coustom and I found it in the closet. It was our anniversary so I put it on found the high heels and fish net stockings. When Donald arrived I was all dressed up since he had just went for a movie to watch,.He loved it. Halloween is our anniversary.

When the boys were little, I dressed one (2 1/2 at the time) as a devil dressed in red satin and with soft little horns and a tiny plastic pitchfork and the baby (3 months) was an angel in his white baptism outfit, complete with angel wings. Definately my favorite of all time.

I never had any really neat costumes as a kid - at least not that I remember. I envy my daughter's costumes as a result :-) The last two years she was a really neat dragon and (now that she has outgrown the dragon) she wants to be a dinosaur. I found a neat one for her, just have to order it (I can't sew or I'd make one :-)

My grandmother made me a "Glinda the Good Witch" costume, complete with sparkling wand, one year!

My mother made me a ballerina costume when I was in the 5th grade. That's the one I remember the most. I don't really have a favorite.

My stepmom was a relgious nut and wouldn't allow us to go trick or treating or anything like that. It was pure evil to her.When we had a school event she forced me to go as a angel and the one year I had to go as drum majorette because she was one.

My favorite though was after I left my dad's. I went to a party as a gypsy. I had big gold jewelry and this peasant like dress. I LOVED it! My aunt always had a collection of outfits, old clothing and different items. They would go to dress up parties and dinners with themes. So, I had a lot to chose from. That was by far my favorite though with bright pink lipstick and lots of makeup it was great.

I made a ginerbread man costume for my baby one year and my older son wore frosty the snow man.

My oldest son has won costume contests almost every year and I loved all of them, but my favorite was the year I made him a paratrooper, dressing him in camo, carring a wooden rifle, and above his head floated his parachute, made out of helium filled long balloons that were a real TREAT tO tie together. there were some major inconviences with this costume; he had to stand just so or the wind really tangled it up. It ruined most of the events we tried to do, but he still loved it.

we never had $$ for cool costumes when I was a kid, but one year my mom made me a prarie girl dress for a school event, and I was able to wear it for Halloween. It was very well made and I won a contest at the church for it.

Now that I have kids I make sure they alsway have a COOL costume.

My parents have pictures of us in our costumes & I know I was Wonder Woman 2 years in a row! she was my idol LOL. There is one of the pics where I have a total 6 pack! LOL (I need to start climbing trees again ROFL!) I used one of my mom's wigs & I had on stuff that didn't really look like Wonder Woman, but the wig made it look good :o). So my return question to you is: What are you going to be for Halloween this year??

2 years ago when I was Rainbow Brite (I was 25 at the time). My then-roommate hand made the costume and people would stop me in the street and go "Oh my god! You're Rainbow Brite!" It was awesome. :)

Great story Tracey! I would say my my favorite Halloween costume was when I was in college and pledging. Our "fellowship" project was throwing a Halloween party for A Phi O and I decided to go as a nun. I had to ride across town on the public bus to get to the party and the bus driver refused to let me pay!

Queen of Hearts card. I was about 11 or 12, made the costume myself and won 2nd prize in the parade! Now... I usually go as my witchy self.

I had a scratch and sniff in Kindergarden.

When I was a teenager, my Mom made me a princess type costume. It was my favorite because she put all of it together and it looked great!
