Reach to the sky and grasp the wind
For in it rainbows have melted
A secret song of tapestry
With threads of hope for you to seek
Sigh not for that you do not know
For change is but a rolling stone
That gathers food to feed your soul
As hunger cries in pages torn
Fear not the fire's from within
Embrace the flame and let it sear
And wound and scar your spirit till
No suffering can match your zeal
Let oceans wash and nourish you
As wind you hold in this dawning
Sets sail to tread the equinox
In each warm sun of harbor stops
So reach reach reach into the wind
As the threads of your tapestry
Form rainbow patterns in the sky
And shield not each sun from your eye

The rainbows lost in the wind, the reaching out into yourself--for inspiration, for hope.
I find this inspirational, something I could read to myself every time I need to 'shield a sun from my eye.'
A lyrical poem, William. Deserves more than a ten.
gently, like a soft breeze and it is so expressive you can feel it. You are doing such fine work here. I admire your talent, and have to say it here.
"So reach reach reach into the wind
As the threads of your tapestry
Form rainbow patterns in the sky
And shield not each sun from your eye"
This gives me encouragement to go on and keep trying to make my life as beautiful as I can.
Passionate and uplifting, this.
You've written my theme song...or a song about the theme that I aspire to.
This is great poetry. I'm going to print this out and paste it on my wall.
My absence made me miss this...but I'm coming back to read and savour your pieces.
Thank you.
This should be published in an anthology.
Blessings and best wishes - S.
But this poem gives me hope that this will pass and I will find my inner voice again soon.
And how it reflects that our lives but are a tapestry of the many things we weave into it. The good with the bad, the painful, all make us who we are - and it is all beautiful when it is finished for our Master to look at and admire.
I love the lines ......
Fear not the fire's from within
Embrace the flame and let it sear
And wound and scar your spirit till
No suffering can match your zeal
Sigh...beautiful.
Thank you for pointing me to it.
William, you have written a lot of beautiful writings, my friend, but this is my very favorite one. My, what depth of imagery you've painted and with such fine strokes of eloquence.
I just had to come back and read this again this evening. I am so touched by this exquisite write; it is so representative of the marvelous talent that is within you.
If you don't mind, I would like to print this off and frame it (with your icon and name) to set alongside my collection of my Gather friends' work at my computer.
"Fear not the fire's from within
Embrace the flame and let it sear
And wound and scar your spirit till
No suffering can match your zeal"
As the threads of your tapestry
Form rainbow patterns in the sky
And shield not each sun from your eye
and sure this is the best...
Thanks
