Are You a Viet-Nam Vet?

Or do you know someone who is? Would you like to share a good viet-nam experience? We'd like to hear them. Please no horror stories. I know it will be hard on some of you who experienced a horrific war but sometimes we see something good in the experience and that's what I'm talking about. Just sharing good times, good memories, good friends, etc.

Da Nang AB,RVN/1971-1972(366 TFW). The one funny memory I have about my time there was a large picture posted near one of the major taxi-ways. It showed two ducks,one flying on top of the other;the one on top was obviously enjoying himself. The caption below the picture said,"Fly United-Use Your Checklist!". Even after 35 years,that memory still tickles my funnybone.-Norman

It was 1970, Cu Chi, Viet Nam, 30 miles from Saigon. Our interpreter, a friendly guy, took the bus to Saigon to see his family. My GI buddy from hawaii wanted to impress the pretty girl in the bookstore on the post. He had the interpreter bring a bouquet of flowers up on the bus. Never again he said, only grooms carry flowers, everyone wished him well in his new marriage and laughed at him when he tried to deny it!

My stepfather and one of my uncles are Vietnam Vet. My Uncle does not talk about Vietnam and my stepfather only gives you tidbitshere and there so I don't have any stories to share. Sorry.
