This is such an easy pie to make. I'm sure even those of you that say you never bake could do this one to perfection.
You will need:
1 Pre-made Pastry Crust for a deep dish pie
1 tbsp. Ground Cinnamon
6 c. Apples, sliced thinly
1/4 c. Caramel Topping
1/2 c. Sugar
3 tbsp. Flour
1/8 tsp. Salt
1/2 c. Pecans, optional
For Crumb Topping you will need:
1 c. Brown Sugar, packed
1/2 c. Quick Cooking Rolled Oats
1/2 c. Flour
1/2 c. Butter (margarine does work)
Directions:
Make the topping. Stir in a smaller bowl: brown sugar, flour and oats. Cut in a 1/2 cup of butter until the topping is crumb like. Set that aside.
In a large mixing bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Add in the apple slices and tss until completely coated. Put apple mixture in the pie crust. Sprinkle the topping mixture over that.
Place the pie on a cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and drizzle caramel topping and pecans on top.
Let cool and enjoy at room temperature. A little scoop of ice cream on the side will make everyone happy.
