...do you make lemonade? I don't see many people who do. Often they fuss and cry and throw a pity party. Why me? Why again? Will it never end?
I'm not like that. I appreciate the good, sure, but the bad has it's place in my life as well. There is always a silver lining to my cloud. I am opptomistic to the point of sometimes infuriating my rather pessimistic husband. But I can't help it.
I wonder how many times we stop to count our blessings as opposed to our problems. I'm sure if I asked you, you could immediately produce a list to me of all your woes. It is sad that it often takes us longer to think of the blessings than the worries.
So here's my challenge. Post a blessing here. Post as many as you like! Keep posting them until you see that they far outweigh the bad. We are a blessed country, a blessed people. What good thing do you have in your life right now? Can you think of one? Five? Ten? More?
Join me in making lemonade!

Awesome challenge Lacey!! I'll post a few blessings and as the day goes by... I'll come back and post a few more and a few more. Why? Because if I listed them all at once... I think I might crash Gather. LOL

Like you - my husband gets a little annoyed with it as well. They do say that opposites attract and balance one another out.

Lots of us bounce off the walls a bit, first, then figure out how to make that lemonade after we've calmed down.

I do think, though, that having a positive outlook makes a BIG difference in how your life runs. Being able to laugh at myself is apparently a great talent. It makes many of your most irritating times into funny stories to amuse your friends!
It was much better to LAUGH when I poured the drink on my head while trying to adjust my hat than it was to get angry or upset. Angry at who? Myself? Pshaw! I'd rather see the humor in it and laugh than dwell on it. Or worse, view it as a conspiracy.
My husband is like that -- everything and anything that happens is a conspiracy just to make his day awful. "It figures." "Everything I do ends up as @#$." "This would only happen to ME." Sheesh. Every person who cuts in front of him, anything in the store from his favorite food being sold out to someone talking to loud, just everything is designed to make his life horrible. Shrug.
I'll stick with my positive outlook.
