My favorite hymn...what's yours & why?

I have many favorite hymns, but there is one that I absolutly love! 

Lord, I Would Follow Thee

The second verse is one that I hold dear!  (of course like my last article I have not always been successful in NEVER judging LOL)

The verse says:

Who am I to judge another when I walk imperfectly...in the quiet heart is hidden sorrow that the eye can't see....who am I to judge another, Lord I would follow thee.

I love how it says in the quiet heart is hidden sorrow that the eye can't see....because people put up fronts or they tear others down...when inside they really have had sorrows in their life.  At least that is what I believe :o).  And I like that it says who am I to judge another when I walk imperfectly...cause yeah I am FAR from perfect!

 

So tell me what is your favorite hymn? 

(and I wasn't able to add photos dang it!  Maybe I reached a photo limit for articles LOL)

I can never decide what my favorite is. It seems to change according to my moods. However I just love "If You Could Hie To Kolob" It is so beautiful with a wonderful uplifting tune.

Is how it starts, Birdee.
It's one of the most BEAUTIFUL songs I have ever heard.

I really don't know any hymns but one - that is, 'Oh Happy Days' done by the Clara Ward Singers.

Birdee, I always liked that line about in the quiet heart is hidden sorrow that the eye can't see, too. There are so many hymns I like that it would be hard to pick only one. I've always like "If You Could Hie To Kolob" too, like my Mom. I also like "Praise To The Man". It always brings tears to my eyes. I love the Primary hymm "I'm Trying To Be Like Jesus." I had it sang at my baptism.

I too love If You Could Hie To Kolob, I'm Trying To Be Like Jesus, and Oh Happy Day! Actually I love music so really I love all hymns that I have heard! I love my friend Sharon's arrangement of Onward Christian Soldiers soooooo beautiful! She has also done an arrangement of If You Could Hie To Kolob. I sing all the time to my kids & I sing 3 hymns in a row & some I know by heart! I start with, Teach Me To Walk In The Light (all 3 verses) then Jesus The Very Thought Of Thee (3 verses of it), then As I Search The Holy Scriptures (1 verse). I do that medley a lot! :o) I did it when I couldn't sleep when I was breastfeeding my boy & he wouldn't sleep when I brought him home from the hospital...it really kept me going(I was up for 24 hours sometimes)! Music is amazing that way!

You know I hate to do the hymn an injustice by not saying the right name, but I'm not a person that memorizes songs, names, or titles.
As close as I can get is : Smitten, struck, and oppressed? It's based on Isaiah. Does anyone know this title

Opps that is O, Divine Redeemer! LOL I think that is the one you are talking about Michelle :o) I sang that with my friend Sharon Hopkins in church one year & I felt the spirit so strong it was AMAZING!

You know when you grow up in a family that has music in their life, it is sure hard to choose one. This last Sunday the primary had there primary program, and sang one of my favorites... "A Child's Prayer". I love alot of the children's songs. They sang another one one year and performed it so cool... it was "Hands Across the World". They didn't start on the stand, they came in from the doors holding hands... It was so AWESOME!!! Tingles all over!!!

Well, I stumbled on this one, too bad I wasn't around when you originally posted it: Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief. It was my mother's favorite hymn and always strikes me as the perfect presentation of what we should be doing here on earth.
