It contains a high level of ephedra, which they use to make meth. But I've never heard of someone busting a drug test because of it. Did he eat a poppyseed muffin? That I know causes a problem.

Thats really messed up.. I wouldn't think that they would turn him down for something like that.. I would really like to know whats in hydroxycut that would screw up his drug test.. So if you ever find out, let me know..

The only thing I can think of is that hydroxycut has Guarana in it which is a nervous system stimulant, so maybe that did it? If I were him I would ask what exactly he tested positive for.

my ex- hubby took the stuff all the time and so do i ... i have been tested and not gotten in trouble for taking it

and their is not ephedra in them anymore so that should not have been an issue and i agree with heather w have him ask what he tested pos for and if the will not give him teh info he can flip and call labor bored

Hydroxycut is a possible false positive creator since it is a diet pill.

Hydroxy cut will alter a drug test and show drugs in the system! Just as poppy seeds will - even if you just eat a poppy seed muffin. I will NEVER take diet pills for any reason. There are too many harmful aspects. I have lost 27 pounds so far this year just with portion control and a little exercise!

He needs to talk to them about the results. I took hydroycut a few years ago when I was in the Navy and never had any pee tesat problems.

Ephedra . . . that was supposed to have been taken off the market several years ago! It probably has something in it like the poppy seed - marijuana connection that messes up drug tests.

Hi Danielle. I stopped using those OTC diet products since they weren't doing me any good anyway, so I don't know what there might be in Hydroxycut that would cause a problem. But I agree with others here that he should definitely find out what they think they found.

If he was honest with them in the first place, I don't know why they would question the results. He can ask for confirmatory testing to get the specific metabolite.
