One of my great gather friends did something tonight that was just wonderful! I enjoyed this so much! Glenna James made a comment on an image of mine tonight. Only she didn't just leave a comment... she made her entire comment a link to something that she was wanting comments on.
Thank you, Glenna! This was purrrrrrrrfect for me! This made it so easy for me to comment on something you wanted commented on.
My dear Gather friends, I'm going to ask a big favor. If you could leave me a link (clickable link preferable) in your comments for something you'd like to see me give some attention to, it would make it sooooooooo much easier for me to do this. Trust me I want to give your articles, images, videos attention! I've got an amazing amount of stuff flying through my "For Me" section though that most of the time, being a mommy of five, I just don't have the time to chop away even a quarter of it. It saddens me that I might be missing out on some really great stuff!
So... if you leave a comment for something of mine.. if you just end your comment with, "I'd love you to come take a peek at (put link here)" or something similar, I'd be able to get around to everything so much faster!
Don't know how to leave a link? That's alright, I'll teach you.
For just a regular link that someone has to copy and paste into the browser, simply click on yor article/image/video. At the very top you should see your "address" bar. This bar is where the "address" is for your publication.
Just highlight that "address", copy it and then paste it at the end of your comment to me, like this: http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977112915 (This is a link to a great article by my husband).
If you want to make it "clickable", that's pretty easy too. Just copy this code:
<a href="youraddresshere">Your Title Here</a>
Copy that code, open up wordpad or something similar, paste it and save it so you always have it.
Then when you want to make a clickable link just re-copy the code, paste it into the comment bubble and fill in the "youradresshere" (make sure to leave the quotes) and the "Your Title Here" sections and you're done.
For example for my husband's article I'd put:
<a href="http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977112915">Click Here for a link to my husband's great article: The Darkened Halls of Kellogsville High School</a>
That code would become:
Click Here for a link to my husband's great article: The Darkened Halls of Kellogsville High School
It's not hard at all :) But really I don't mind non-clickable links either. Being a busy mommy and wife, I'd just really, really, really love it if you would include a link of any kind for me!
Great way to promote yourself too! *winks*
Thanks friends!!!
