Interesting. How big is Russia?

Actually, I was listening to a lecfture from Stanford on Itunes U, and thought I'd pass on the small bits of facts. Russia is a large country. I'm not sure I'd actively want to go seeking out information on the country, except when prompted.

Hmm, 1.8 times the size of the US, spanning 11 time zones makes it seem larger. I guess the US has 7 time zones, if one counts atlantic for the US Virgin Islands, East, Cent, Mount, West, Alaska, Hawaii. Maybe more depending on if Alaska has multiple time zones.

The area of Russia is 17,075,200 sq km, or 6,592,772 sq miles - approximately 1.8 times the size of the US
