San Fran drafting legislation for ID cards, for illegals! Whats wrong with SF?

Outrageous.

I believe it is a perfect way to solve the problem. Provide all illegals an identification card and then 6 months later when they come to recieve their benefit checks you arrest them, place them in prison for 1 year to work in the prison industries to repay the government. After the year we send them back to where they came with instructions on legal immigration and implant them with an electronic chip that shocks them in they enter the US again without proper paperwork.

You forgot one thing. That one year of imprisonment needs to be worse than their life before. How about winter on the north slope of Alaska, and summer in the Florida Keys ? (behind bars of course). The San Francisco officials who are enacting this lunacy can join them there.

Sparky I like the point but Chick, you're probably right. So why can't individual states separate from the union? Sure it's a crap shoot but if we stay connected we then know for sure we're all going down the toilet.
Lets expose just who is passing these laws that are allowing this and spread it to Lou Dobbs and on all these sites to let the people know who the traitors are.

As a resident of the Peoples Republic of California, this is not at all surprising. Ever since I was 10 years old I have felt that San Francisco would greatly benefit another 9.0 earthquake. What I do find amazing is that they haven't tried to change the cities name and abandon it's affiliation with the Catholic Missions.

This same plan is being tried in New Haven, CT...........home of extreme Left Wing Yale University. Every bleeding heart on the East Coast thinks it's fantastic, of course. Until the social services run dry or are radically diminished due to insufficient taxes.........from fleeing businesses who don't want to pick up the tab.

I'm not amazed at the article but at the reactions here...no one has called you a racist or said illegasl have a human right to go anywhere they please. This actually gives me some hope we can win this mess (after places like SF and New Haven go broke...)

How about if we make it so difficult for Illegal Aliens that they don't want to come here? Not only do we not provide them with jobs, but we harass and jail them too. No welfare, no medical freebies, no anchor babies, no nothing. A hostile environment might disincentivize them too, don't you think?

It is more than a little screwed up when a local government is helping people who are violating federal immigration laws. ICE needs to quadruple in size, or more, to handle the load that local enforcement of federal law will put on it.

A federal law should be passed to cut off all federal money to cities and other localities that accomodate illegal immigrants, once the processing capability is funded on the federal level.

What we can do now is demand that all illegal aliens that have been convicted of a crime be deported, starting with the violent felons. We need the border to be secured to a degree that keeps people from being able to march an elephant, with a media entourage, across it, as I witnessed recently.

San Fran is on the forefront of the wave that will cause their own political failure. The feds' recent cosmetic actions on enforcement have burned them, though, so I'm not at all confident of substantial action. This change will have to come from the ground up, with the feds enacting some kind of "over the top, but behind the curve" legislation, better known as CYA.

Exactly. A little starvation diet of Federal funds usually sobers up most municipalities. And New Haven and San Fran are both getting a little hefty.

A Sleeper Amnesty: Time to Wake Up from the DREAM Act

"........The DREAM Act (S. 774) is a nightmare. It is a mas­sive amnesty that extends to the millions of illegal aliens who entered the United States before the age of 16. The illegal alien who applies for this amnesty is immediately rewarded with "conditional" lawful per­manent resident (green card) status, which can be converted to a non-conditional green card in short order. The alien can then use his newly acquired status to seek green cards for the parents who brought him in illegally in the first place. In this way, it is also a back­door amnesty for the millions of illegal aliens who brought their children with them to the United States.

.....First, providing in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens amounts to giving them a taxpayer-financed education. In contrast, out-of-state students pay the full cost of their education.

......On top of this insult to the rule of law, the DREAM Act includes a massive amnesty, as noted above. This amnesty opens a wide path to citizen­ship for any alien who entered the country before the age of 16 and has been in the country for at least five years. The guiding notion seems to be "The longer you have violated federal law, the better."

Beyond that, all the alien needs is a high school diploma or a GED earned in the United States. If he can persuade an institution of higher education in the United States—any community college, technical school, or college—to admit him, that will suffice. Any illegal alien who meets these con­ditions (or who can produce fraudulent papers indicating that he meets the conditions) gets immediate legal status in the form of a "condi­tional" green card good for six years, according to Section 4(a)(1).

There is no upper age limit. Any illegal alien can walk into a U.S. Customs and Immigration Ser­vices office and declare that he is eligible. For example, a 45 year old can claim that he illegally entered the United States 30 years ago at the age of 15. There is no requirement that the alien prove that he entered the United States at the claimed time by providing particular documents. The DREAM Act's Section 4(a) merely requires him to "demonstrate" that he is eligible—which in practice could mean simply making a sworn statement to that effect. Thus, it is an invitation for just about every illegal alien to fraudulently claim the amnesty.

.....The DREAM Act also makes the illegal aliens eli­gible for federal student loans and federal work-study programs—another benefit that law-abiding foreign students cannot receive—all at taxpayer expense. A consistent theme emerges: Illegal aliens are treated much more favorably than aliens who fol­low the law. There is no penalty for illegal behavior."

there are many crazy ideas that move forward for social changes in california. not all of them make it. obviously the ones that would inhibit the illegals or the minorities will move forward faster with the christian fundamentalists from out of state pouring the money into california.
now ,for veterans day.lets all salute those brave men and women who fought for everyone in america, legal or not, to enjoy this great country,otherwise you slap them in the face. they didnt get to pick and choose which cause to lampoon or support. they supported the country full fledged in hopes that america will remain the greatest melting pot in the world.
