Earthen vessels,
come near to me.
Give ear unto my words,
and hear my earnest plea.
Hearken now to my desire,
to soar as one, where eagles fly.
Let go your tangled earthbound ways,
and live, before you die!
There’s nothing worse than early death,
while wearing flesh upon your soul.
Discard your weary, earthly path,
and let the spirit be made whole.
My knowledge wears the age of early days,
before the time of clay-shaped earth.
I’ve sought for years to dispel the fears,
and yearned for mans’ re-birth.
Searing heat melts your wax made wings,
when clearly the dearth of hope is near.
Search early my pearls of wisdom,
and learn, my wings are the ones to wear.
Earmark the days of earthen toil,
while bearing well your earthbound strife.
The words I spoke early, were clear for you to hear,
and now you listen, as n’er you could in life.

Sammie, thank you so much for comming by! Using 'ear' is the challenge this week, in Poetry Play On Words group. It's fun to see what everyone writes!:)
Thank you, Ed. Your words mean alot!
I love the profoundness of this beautifully intense poem. It speaks to me of the wisdom of God yearning for man to apply HIS wisdom to the matters of this life. No one can write and capture the essence of the marvelous earthly connection between man and God like you, Virginia. You are truly in your glory when you write from the heart about this sacred link.
A touching plea using the wind as the voice that invites humanity to use wisdom as the hallmark of its character. I see the wind as symbolic of the voice of God [gently] pleading with humanity to employ the "pearls of wisdom" from his ways as opposed to our ways of perception.
Great depth! Wonderful use of the keyword!!
