I knew Bush could give a crap whether there were WMDs, or not, when he totally ignored the inspectors information and started bombing, but now there is proof, besides the Downing Street Memo, that Bush knew long before he invaded there were no WMDs. CLICK HERE

I wish I could register even the slightest surprise over this news. I hate to say "I told you so....but.....".

WMD was never the reason for this war, it was just the most convenient lie Mr. Bush could tell to get enough people behind him. It worked and the rest is history.

If we were truly interested in WMD's and terrorists, we would have secured the yellow cake and weapons arsenals that had been under international control within Iraq! We left them unsecured and they all disappeared. The only thing we secured in Baghdad was the oil ministry. The Iraqi's could see from that exactly what our intentions were. Now if only the Americans could see it!

Uh, Shari, the yellow cake turned out to be a red herring, but you are absolutely right about the arsenals that were left unsecured. The truth is Iraq was a sales job from 911 on, and it was merely an excuse to do what they had been planning since before they gained office.

I never do True, it's like this, if I think it's important enough to put up, I know that any article gets very little play, most of the time. Very few get past ten comments, so If I put something up, and someone else does too, that's fine with me, because the idea is to get exposure for the article, not to make me points. It just gives it a few more reads.

I dont think Bush lied. We know Iraq had WMD, built WMD, used WMD, and stockpiled WMD, but we dont know what happened to them. They are probably in Syria or Iran.

Uh, Ty, you are aware most of what they had we provided them with for the Iran/Iraq war? Yes they did have programs, but they were shut down in the late 90s. Where things get disposed of in a third world country would be a real needle in a haystack proposition, I would think, but we do know that the few old munitions with chemicals in them that were found were buried in the desert sand. That would seem pretty likely to me. Somewhere down the line they will be an environmental hazard, but I doubt much danger otherwise.

People who support Bush and the actions his administration are beyond deluded at this point. No amount of credible evidence will sway them. They have been completely brainwashed. The sad thing is that they may never admit that they made a mistake, even when it's beyond repair.

Maybe Bush did lie about WMD in Iraq. We may never really know. But even if it is true, how will it change anything? How will it make anything better? You are harping on the past and it no longer matters. Stop pretending like its 2002, and deal with the situation at hand.

Sheryl, the reports I read of the recent Republican debate seemed largely to be a massive circle-jerk in saying that "stay the course" is working - Seems to be all the GOP has these days!

Besides, after 12 years of harsh sanctions, it's highly doubtful Iraq could've maintained viable CW stocks!
