Do you recycle?

We have a place here a metal place.i am not much into recycling but I do save scrap copper if i see it and sometimes cans.Scrap copper is 1.75 a lb here now.We took ours to recycle.We've been picking it up on a few jobs for awhile now.Anyway I was expecting to get 25.00 or so for the little bit we had but we got 100.00 for it.What a blessing cause work has been slow.Now we can buy groceries and pay the water bill.I thank God for meeting our needs today.YAY!

Not really. I tried to save some cans outside. They were in a black bag and I tried to put them somewhere that no one would know what they were but someone stole them anyway. We don't get enough cans to recycle so if we do have any, I'll just put them on top of the trashcan in the alley and they're snapped up right away.

We used to, but then we had kids that started to get into everything...yeah haha. Also we just moved here & so I don't know where to recycle at. I was huge on recycling back in the day! Oh & the tops of your canned pop Ronald McDonald House collects those & so we used to save tons! I love that charity along with Shriner's Hospital! They helped me out a lot!

Our apartment complex has recycling bins, so we recycle soda cans and plastic bottles, as well as paper. There is probably more that we could be recycling, but we are still getting used to the whole idea of it--before we moved, no one recycled.

I took some things to the scarp yard last year when I was working on some constructions jobs. I took boxes and boxes of copper #1 and #2. Here in PA, at the time, it was $2.40lb. I made a good amount of cash from it. It was all extra cash for me and was spent on extra things for the family.

I recycle ......... if it benefits me.
Phoenix makes it easy for us to recycle by giving us a regular city trash can and a blue recycle trash can. The only recycle item you can't put in the blue cans is electronics. They have drop off places for that kind of stuff. They make it so convenient for us I would feel like a real heel if I didn't participate.

Thats great Bill!I had no idea what it was worth.I am happy about it though.Very well needed here right now.I dont like fooling w/cans too much either,Alainia.People always want them anyway and I don't buy alot of cans anyhow.The boss at the job leaves bent scraps of copper and tells us to get it so we do.A lady down the street collects tops off cans,Birdie i give her ones I find.Thanks everyone for stopping by!Hope your day is a nice one!

I like to thrift and I told my kids we were recycling! :) When I was a kid my Dad would bring home scrap wire from work and we would skin it for the copper with razor blades. It was nice to have that time together.

I had heard that copper was high. People are stealing stuff from car engines to sell.
I recycle paper and plastic and glass. I also do Freecycle(tm) which is a wonderful way to recycle. Oh, the dh recycles computer stuff too, there is a place here in town that takes it.

Yes. There is a recycle bin by our post office for recycling magazines and a bin by the Water Dept. for plastics and newspapers. I haven't found one for cans yet.

I don't really do a lot of recycling but my mom does...when we go to stores or shops she would always bring a used plastic bag with her...when it's time to check out the groceries she would offer her plastic bag instead of using a new one.

I recycle because it is included in our garbage bill and with five poeple in one houe, it eliminates teh need for extra pickups (and cost that goes with it). Whether we recycle, burn it, or bury it, it will impact our environment in both good and bad ways.

We save scrap wire from jobs, but haven't turned it in yet.

Good deal for you. We don't recycle. I used to, but others steal it and even when I wash out the soda cans, they attract bugs. Its gross.

Our family recycles. We save cans and generally sell them about once a year. The price for aluminum around here is around 70 cents a pound. I use some used pallets too, to make a few things out of. I need a scroll saw to make more stuff with the pallet wood but that will come in due time. We don't throw any food in the garbage, we either give them to our dogs or the neighbor dogs. My husband has just started to get into the recycle thing also. He takes a lot of metal off of tractors and he is saving the metal to weld on and make a few things out of. I wish we would recycle more things.

Our township requires that we separate recyclables from the regular trash. We recycle all cans, glass, plastic, and cardboard. I think we have an obligation to do what we can to reduce waste in this country, and personally it's a bit small minded to only see recycling as a "what's in it for me" thing. If you don't recycle, keep that in mind the next time someone decides a new dump needs to be put near your community.

Dumps can be reclaimed and turned into parks or anything. I don't think they start dumps near neighborhoods, do they? That would be gross to live next door to one.

I'm glad it's working out for you. It's amazing how God takes care of us. Recycling here is easy - I have a separate recycling bin & set it out with my trash at the curbside.

We are in an area...I like to say a backwards area) that offers no recycling. I can't beleive it really. I mean, there are places that you can bring your cans to, but no paper recycling, no pick recyclying.....nothing.

We recycle what we can and just in general try to reuse and to avoid waste.

Copper is going for so much these days that thieves are stealing it from the streetlights and from construction sites where new homes are being built.

Yes Thieves will go to great lengths to steal whatever they can,its sad.They have video cameras at the metal yard to see who is bringing it and they pay w/a check so it is a problem and they are getting better at catching them and stiff penalty for those that get caught so thats good.

Our garbage collectors also collect our recycling. In our state all pop cans and bottles have a deposit on them, so they get turned n for the deposit.

We get scraps of it from construction jobs from a plumber that leaves it for scraps.But thieves steal it from lots of different places.

We recycle almost anything we can. Bottles, can, newspapers, glass, and those darn plastic bags.

I do cans and bottles every month, it helps pay bills at the end of the month. Cans are $2.10lb here and not sure what bottles are.
