She has come...
when we were not looking.
unwanted still,
she opens the door
the fear of generations past
this genealogy is sad
with fear because she is here
we go mad....
keeping silence we think to conquer
growing weaker all the same
hiding the pain
as if it is shame...
finally we realize the falsehoods
and that this life is not all there is
but if were going to make it in the end
we must pull together, again
she has come
with all her cruel reality
with such finality
the cancer has come....

Dedicated to all the women who fear the pain
the families that have lived within the midst of that rain...
and the survivors...
of Breast Cancer...

a fast growing very malignant form...
My grandmother died of Breast cancer when my father was just 15... genealogy, is not just for fun learn all you can that you may learn the health issues etc, that you may protect against and be wary of the situation that your DNA could have placed you in.
This is not the fun past.. but neither is giving up the Ghost without a fight... I have another sister she is getting tests done, we watch for the evil that cancer is and we prepare for war and we plan to win... on the wings of prayers our efforts rest.
sorry I guess I am still in prose mode...

I am terrified of cancer.
you give me what I need
to fight
the fight
my love
for you is not inside
to big it resides
everywhere
My love
I hope y6ou know my prayer
are to always have
you here
ok ok I guess she is right I can't force the love poems at least not now, the sentiment is perfect but the presentation rhyme and flow just are not there.
But never let it be said I did not say "I love you" enough!!!
I love you Leslie Waldron Townsend...
This was a wonderful poem. I am sorry about your sister. Breast Cancer is difficult on any family but you and your family have already been through so very much.
Thanks for sharing this poem with me. :)
still praying
Your poem is well done. I feel the fear as I read it.
