Pet peeves in your neighborhood

I live in a very rural area, but we have a number of neighbors making up a  kind of loose development with patches of woodlands in between and large lawns. Some people seem to think it's okay to allow their cats and dogs to wander about without restraint. Not only do they drive my own dog and cat bonkers, but they defecate in my flower beds and lawn. What things do your neighbors do that is quite unneighborly to the point she want to tell them about it?

The only thing I can really complaine about is my neighbors are very anti social. I'm a social person I've tried on more than one occasion to introduce myself. :( It makes me sad that they don't even say hello.

Interesting topic.

First of all, cats can't really be contained. However, I don't find them being as much of a problem as dogs. Cats cover their waste, whereas dogs don't. There is occasionally a HUGE dog that comes through our back yard, and he ALWAYS leaves an equally HUGE deposit! LOL (I hate it when I discover his deposit the hard way....ewww).

We have wonderful neighbors on each side of us, but the one set rents out the upstairs of their house to a couple of men who play very weird, repetitive music much louder than necessary. No one else on our street does anything like that. They keep to themselves, so I as yet have not been able to speak to them about this. It always amazes me that people seem to assume that EVERYONE else should love their kind of music! LOL

The kids don't know enough to stay out of the street when a car is coming or they dare you to hit them.
They were raising a goat, which they were apparently going to eat. But yesterday there was a rather melodramatic goat rescue, so I guess all is well.

My neighbor has dug a dip in the road to drain water that accumulates after a rain from his yard. We have filled it in several times and he just goes out and digs it again mumbling law suit for having water back up. Well, how about paying for damages to my car!

Is there a leash law? Are the animals up to date one shots? Can they be considered tresspassers by law? I know where I live, even animals running loose can be considered tresspassers by law and the owners fined and taken to court.

I don't have neighbors for a reason...lol
I have a neighbor who is a DJ, he practices his music sometimes until late at night, even all night, but y'know, he watches out for me and my kid so what do I say. I can sleep with earplugs, it's all about getting along w/ your neighbors, and getting along with those who try to get along with you. He's a wonderful neighbor, so I'll fall to sleep to what ever music he chooses!!! He calls the gestapo when he sees something wrong, when there is someone on my lot who does not belong there, how can I have a beef with that? Obviously, I can't!!!
I live in a very small town... We don't even have a McDonalds... And I happen to live in a part where you could consider it "the city" but people leave their old furniture or their old propane tanks... Random junk on their front porch... Our home is always kept up and never looks trashy but we live in a very trasy neighborhood... So funny because when we first moved in I thought the peple across the street might be having a yard sell... Nope, just junk that's there permanantly... I'm so glad we are moving

For the most part, our neighbors are nice ones, minding their own business, keep their homes and property well kept. Our next door neighbor, however, is a dog hater and that has led to problems. But ours are NEVER allowed off leash for any reason.

I call the dog catcher, I also have cat traps to catch stray cats. My animals are in cages. My property is fenced to the street. I lost some of my neighbors when they sold their property. The other ones died. There are maybe 5 of us on this block.

I have one that watches our every move and calls when we leave the outdoor light on or the sprinklers on or if we take the trashcans out after 8 she says it's making too much noise.

I'm pretty lucky considering I live in an apartment. None of my neighbors bother me. My dog on the other hand has bothered my neighbors. We used to leave the door to our porch open a crack so she could go in and out of the house since she's alone for about twelve hours a day but we got complaints of her barking. But unlike others who don't get the hint, we did what was right and now keep her inside all day. I feel bad for my dog but a barking dog is annoying!

My neighbor had dogs that were never quiet. I am a dog lover but it can wear thin after a while. I was thinking of taping the noise and playing it back to him but then his girlfriend moved out and the noise stopped. Oh no that sounds like his girlfriend was a dog. lol

We have a lot of abandoned houses since the hurricane. I wish these "neighbors" would do SOMETHING with their property. The problem is so overwhelming, the government can't keep up!

The only ones that I would complain about have been evicted, so we love it here:) We live in a conclave of 5 1920's bungalows, so having a noisy neighbor that parties a lot really sucked!

I did have a problem with free-roaming dogs when I lived in rural Washington. We would complain and complain, but nothing ever happened. That particular culprit was really bad because we were pretty sure that they were running a meth lab as well. The Sheriff's really did nothing about it, which was hard to understand and deal with.

I am the pet peeve in my neighborhood. We've had landscaping problems and the drought this summer hasn't helped.

I actually live in a wonderful neighborhood at the present time. No complaints.

However, it was not always that way. I used to live in a neighborhood that had the local NOSY Busybody. And mind you, it was a man...not a lady as you would suspect.

He made it his business to know everything that went on in the neighborhood. The only good thing was that you didn't have to worry about Crime Watch...he watched everything!
