Chain Game: Chain of Books!

How about something fun today, to take my mind off the dire state of my finances?

 Let's do a chain of books. I will post a book, and you post a book that has something in common with the first book.

So for example,  if I posted Great Expectations, you could post A Christmas Carol because it is by Dickens, or The Great Gatsby because they both have Great in the title.  Tell us what the connection is if it isn't obvious.  Googling is allowed if you get stuck - and if you really like the book, include a bit about it in the comment.

  Let's start with THE ADVENTURES OF TOM SAWYER by Mark Twain!

I  thought  Tom  was  extremely clever, and I  used to envy Becky Thatcher  for being the object of Tom's affections.  I wanted to meet a boy like Tom who would  try to impress me by beating other boys up, and take me on grand adventures. 

 ... I guess that means we're starting off with a Twain-chain, hah hah.
