Moorpark, where the mountain in between Moorpark and Simi Valley used to have the set of Little House on the Prairie, that is until one of the latest brush fires took its toll. So sad!
Thousand Oaks and Agoura Hills, the mountains of which border Simi Valley and which were transformed a few years ago into the greenest mountains of all time where the latest Dr. Suess movie was filmed.
Avalon, Catalina Island, the Big White Boat that took me there umpteen times as a kid. Glass bottom boats were a wonder. Scuba diving off the reefs and in the seaweed forests was very memorable.

Baker, home of the world's tallest thermometer, when it's working. Well, I suppose it's the tallest even when it's not. Tee hee. It's the halfway point between the Los Angeles to Las Vegas commute.
Sylmar, home of the 1971 e-quake, that one kept me home from school in the 11th grade. It was really the San Fernando e-quake but because it did so much damage to the Olive View Hospital in next door Sylmar, that name stuck.
Never heard of Dorris, I had to look it up. It's home to the world's tallest flagpole, west of the Mississippi. Kewl!
Tulelake, near Tule Lake, Tule River is where I spent many weekends sliding down natural waterfalls in blue jeans, you can't do it is bare skin, it would rip up your skin.
