Today we had a 4.7 earthquake in Southern California. My friend and I were sitting in my living room and we started to feel some shaking and we both looked at each other to figure out what it was. Quickly we realized that we were having an earthquake and grabbed our dogs and then soon enough it was over. Started as a slight rumble and then it got a bit worse and then stopped. No damage to speak of and nothing seemed to shift in our house. But all I know is that when one starts shaking, all you can do is wait to see if it gets worse and thank God it didn't!
So, have you ever been in an earthquake or some other natural disaster?

I'm going to have to turn the news on. I haven't seen it in days.
A long time ago I was in an earthquake that rated 6.5 on the richter scale. I saw a crack form from the ceiling all the way down to the floor on one wall of the house I was in. Very scary indeed.
I got to the point where I was used to them.....except for the biggies!
This comment and rating of your older gather content was an idea Steve the Legend had on how to give a Christmas gift to our Gather connections. He posted an article with the suggestion of checking out our connections content from before we were connected. You are the 26th connection I have done this with so far. I hope you have a wonderful holiday, Michelle.
I know this is nothing for you guys out in California but this is the biggest one here in many decades. We sit on the New Madrid Fault in Kentucky. A bit scary while it was going on but quite an interesting experience now.
Unbelievably, I have not even received a scratch.
God looks after fools, and I'm proof I guess.
