A few weeks ago, I joined Ancestry.com in an effort to research my ancestors. What immediately happened was this: I created a Frankenstein’s monster in my husband. He spends hours on there, looking for people to whom he owes his existence.

Just before I went back to work, we made a trek to Lancaster County in Pennsylvania to stomp around in some cemeteries there and to visit the Historical Society (fascinating place!) While we were in the cemeteries, I took several pictures of headstones with his family names and ones that I just thought were interesting. Here are several of those pictures.

Yes, I know some people think it’s weird that I enjoy cemeteries, but I always have. I’m not at all uncomfortable there.

Before we left home, I charged two sets of batteries for each of us to use in our cameras. When I was in one of the cemeteries, I took a few pictures, and suddenly I got a message saying that my batteries were to low to take photos. I knew that they should still have a lot of power, but I went ahead and changed to the other ones and got the same message. I had to shut down my camera. When we left there, my camera began to work normally again. We went on to another cemetery where exactly the same thing happened. All I could figure was that someone in there didn’t want his/her picture taken. Hmmmmm….

Nope, don't think its weird at all. It's sacred ground dedicated to eternal piece and most disruptive, destructive or unbalanced individuals avoid cemetaries. These were my favorite places to hang out for a quiet day of reading or writing as a teen lol. Now, as for getting There outta your head.. try mental floss!

I explained politely to the gravestone that I was just copying the poem, because beautiful things should be remembered, and that I meant no disrespect.
The organizer worked just fine after that.
Hmmm, now about the draining battery in your camera...a mystery, for sure!
Even I had to visit them for sketching as student in Art College
But no spookies bothered , maybe they too were learners ?!!!!
Thanks for sharing
