Kipona Festival 2007: photo essay

This weekend saw us at Harrisburg’s Kipona Festival celebration, one of the oldest waterfront festivals in the United States. The Festival includes exciting competitions and events such as March of Dimes Rubber Duck Regatta; Kipona Artfest; the Kipona CanoeRaces; the Pennsylvania State Chili Cook-Off; the Footbag Tournament; and the Breath of Nature Karate Tournament.

Today, there were noteworthy events such as:

A Native American Pow-Wow

Tap team two - anIrish and African Hip Hop/Tap team.

The Leukemia/Lymphoma Society 2007 BASS CLASSIC presented by the Capital City Bassmasters. The 2007 BASS CLASSIC at Kipona featured a first prize of $3,000.00 guaranteed.

There were local club booths, games and food all along the river front.

It sure looked like everyone was having a fun time getting together as a community for a great festival.

Small town festivals are always a lot of fun. I must admit I've never heard of an Irish and African Hip Hop/Tap team!

That sounds like fun, we were going to go but it was getting to hot when we thought about it so I didn't go this year.

We didn't go this year. I'm sick of Harrisburg's down town when it's crowded. I mainly get mad at people that big those big dogs that shouldn't be in crowded areas like that, smoke like chimneys especially near my daughter and me and people who don't watch there kids. We went to Millersburg Ferry. Where you ever on the Ferry? They had the bicentennial event up there.

We are going to the York fair this weekend! I'm excited. I love big fairs. I'm glad you had a great time though.
