The Beach
I love the roar of the ocean. It always comforts me. Feeling the sand in between my toes, walking down the sandy beach, just looking for sand dollars or any unbroken shells is my way of having a really good time. The smell of the gentle ocean breeze can lull you to sleep at night. It’s all a part of my heaven. Seeing the vast ocean with all its’ wonder, helps me to see that there is more to this world than just me.
You forget about everything when you’re standing in front of the ocean. I forget my name, and all my cares. The ocean has a rejuvenating effect on me. I go there to recharge and regenerate to get away from the mean world. While I am connecting to the ocean, I clear my mind and just let things wander through it. It’s always relaxing.
The ocean has put a spell on me, the kind of spell that you never want to get released from. It started when, I was born near the ocean and from that point on, I was addicted. There is not a cure for it, which means that no matter where I live, I will always have to be able to visit the ocean. I really don’t mind since my husband and daughter seems to enjoy it as well. I’m in good company.

It can be so peaceful and serene just sitting and listening to the waves crashing into the shore.
It is a good place to shed those worries, and return allot lighter.
In seriousness, I totally grok your comment about connecting to the ocean and the beach. It's so important to be able to disconnect from the "mean world" and have a different wavelength.
Another piece you might want to read that also addresses this is by Gerry Wass. You can find it here:
