proud proud gleeming with proudism...

Went to my son's  first game tonight,, they won 28/6  the was great start of the season,, yet, the best part of the night. was to see him play at the start of the game,, the first time in 2 years he played he done that..And he did well, on the kick off, ran ran and tackle the other guy first before the got to the 10 yd line, which made it easy for them to keep the other down to our area,, this is how it went most of the nite,,

The other best part, totally surprize by me and my son.

We play a team who was recognizing alumni, and what they have done for the church, we play a poricatical school., One of the alumni was a player back in the 70's  He did so much for the church and the community in the past 15 years, he got a special award.. Well I knew him,  his folks and my were best of friend,, his mom work with my dad.My step son didnt believe me, when I said I knew him,,

Well during his speech he made comment how important it was for parents to be there for the kids esp now, with all the trouble there is around us.  He made a comment that his dad and his dad friend and the friend daughter never missed one of his games.( true dad drag me to all of them).  And that is one of the many reason he is who he is today,  then he trun to my son team and ask our couch if my son could stand next to him.. OK what up I thought.. He introuduce my son to himself, and to other and told them all that his mom was the daughter, and had ask me to come stand next to them.  I stood crying my eyes out. My son helped me down, me handicap and all with a cane and all. 

He said us as parents brighten our future in our children and we all should remember that,  And he public thank me for being there many years ago,  I never felt so proud, of both my son and my new found friend,, His parents both have past and I have not seen him since then.  It was so touching and so not expecting..

later we talked,  I ask him how he knew my son,  he said he remeber my old married name, and ask my son if I was his mom, he said yes, and he told him he knew my dad and ask if my dad would be there,, Allen said no but mom is comming,, that was that..

sorry for the leagth  yet I am still bursting in proud,,   We all got interviewed for my local paper and the other paper.. so I wll send that out later...
