I am terrible about keeping track of my Gather points. I usually end up searching through pages and pages of comments I have left to find the ones where I gave my point totals to someone asking. My new idea was to just keep sending a IM to my boyfriend telling him my points, he never closes windows so I could usually keep track on there for a while. But then his power goes out and I'm screwed. So I think I will just leave comments on this for a while to track them since the old system was not working well at all haha.
I'm about 99% sure I have over 3000 for this month. I left a comment on the first or so saying I had "about 1800 points." I think I had more like 1890. I now have about 4,400 (more like 4,470 but who cares) Thats only 2500 BUT I also cashed out for a $10 GC so thats I think 625 making it over 3,000.
The question I have is; inorder to get the cash option do you have to earn and keep all 3000 points in a month or could I earn them and then cash them in for GC all month as long as cumulatively I earned 3000 points?
Also how do you keep track?

I know that if you get the orange juice e-mail your point total at that time is in there but I have a wierd phobia of inbox clutter so I always end up deleting them. BUT if you have G-mail (and I do but not for this) it might be cool to track points that way, but it could only be daily totals.
Good luck! I've had a great month, point wise, but I don't know if I earned 3,000 or not. I've cashed out 2 $25 cards, and 1 $10 since August 1st, but the first card was primarily from July earnings, so... who knows? I also have almost 1000 points currently.
But.....last month I made it and cashed in for a gift card and haven't heard anything yet. I am not sure if this is just gather taking their time (which I have heard that they do) or if I wasn't supposed to cash out for GC's. Maybe one of the guides can help us.
as far as keeping track of points......I have a small little notebook that I keep next to the PC. Everyday, I write the date, my points total when I log in in the morning and how many connections I have. I also keep track of my MYpoints and Netwinner Point totals for fun on the same line.
If you just use one line per day, it is easy to refer to and see how far you have come.

Almost at 5,000
Does anyone see an advantage, after you reach the cash out option, to get gift cards? The only thing I can think of is that it kindof forces me to buy from that place so instead of spending all my extra money on school I would be forced to treat myself. But buying from Borders is a good chunk more expensive than buying used from amazon so I feel like Im just wasting money then.

I don't spend as much time on gather as it seems really. I just look at as much as I can when I am on :)
This isn't as easy now that school is back and I run around with my head cut off.
I have been SO busy lately its out of control. I am starting to lean twards the cash option. Tuition being due and going back to paying rent every month (oh how I loved summer at my parents summer house) Has left me with a 3k credit card bill and a good 2k in other bills to pay. Yucky. Maybe I should make more time for gather

Finals are back! haha. I can't believe that in over a month I have only earned 260 points. Doesn't compare much to my over 3k point month but ill work on boosting them back up.
