The veil is lifting

As I have been writing and writing (because this topic is so important), the general mood of guarded optimism and global economic opportunity will turn decidedly conservative and even somber with the Saturn/Virgo and Pluto/Capricorn transits. The ever present gap between the haves and the have nots, will become more evident as credit become tighter, the consumers become more cautious and the young investors unleashed by the Jim Cramers' of the world, begin to lose their tuition funds in the market. Yes, 2008 will be bleak, the democrats will seize the opportunity of the somber financial climate to raise taxes on the rich, in the hopes of "leveling" the playing field. My advice to all out there is to cash in all highly speculative stocks by years end, stay in high yielding fundamental holdings (bonds, consumer staples, high dividend stocks). It will also be a "cash is king" atmosphere in 2008, and that's okay too, if you can afford it. Homeland security issues will also be at the forefront in 2008, oh heck, just wake me when it is all over!

Kay. I don't know too much about astrology. Well, ok, I don't know anything at all. You mention Jim Cramer, and I am not a big fan, but...he was interviewed by Tim Russert last weekend, and he said a couple of things that caught my attention. Russert asked him what his best stock investment had been, and he answered, "Google". Russert asked him to elaborate, and he said that Google is brancing out into other sectors, one of which is renewable energy. This is true in a big way, and I was glad to hear Cramer say it, because he has also touted nuclear enegy in the past. This sounded like a different tone from him. Does astrology say anything about solar? The forecasts I read predict it will be cost competitive within a decade. Wind is already there.

Sorry folks for not responding earlier, I lost my Mom over the holidays and I'm just getting back into the swing of things. Ann, Gary and Steve, thanks for responding. My Astrological interpretations are based on astrological trends. Times are now tending to trend towards the pragmatic and conservative (Saturn in Virgo, Pluto in Capricorn). When I wrote this article back in August, I thought it was strange, since our country was definitely on the road to a more liberal "feel", however, as we have seen and quite sadly I may add, problems with the economy, and potentially dire developments worldwide, will bring our country back to a more pragmatic and an "everyone for themselves" type of climate. Steve, I actually believe this will be a good time for alternative energy, as we will be forced to finally free ourselves of Mideastern oil--unfortunately in a shocking way. We will see the economy turn upwards in the spring, when Pluto goes retrograde; a brief respite, so plan wisely, reorganize portfolios for a long defensive haul ( stocks with good balance sheets and strong earnings potential worldwide, don't forget keeping a good deal in cash). Once we settle in with Pluto going direct in the fall, the companies that remain standing and at the top of their industries, will signal a strong buy signal.
