What Are You Doing This Labor Day Weekend?

Summer is winding down, and the last big weekend of the season is almost here.

What are you doing for Labor Day?

I am going to yard sales with my dad as well as spending some quality outdoor and cookout time with my parents.   

The food will be great, as will the memories.

Hey, I'm a family kind of guy.

I really don't have anything special planned. There is a festival going on that I might take my grandsons too. But we have lots of yard work to do. I'm not sure if there will be any time for fun things.

I love to have yard sales. Have an inviation to join one this weekend but to many emergencies going on to think about it. Will stay at home and BBQ

I've been busy all week getting ready for this weekend. I've been packing some things while getting lots of my belongings ready to hold one final yard/house sale starting tomorrow morning and ending Monday evening. After that, I'll be packing up what didn't sell, along with my cooking and eating utensils and food, in preparation for the moving company showing up early next Thursday morning to take my possessions to my new home an hour away. I'll have everything moved in by noon...and then spend all my time through next weekend settling into my hew abode. Seeing how I'm holding a sale, does that mean I can expect you and your dad to stop by? LOL! New Hampshire isn't that far away. Anything special you're looking for? I'm selling off tons of things...and have a lot left over (along with lots of 'new' items I'm putting out for this sale) from a yard/house sale I had at the beginning of August.

My hubby and I will spend the weekend with our urban family in New Rochelle...they have a pool...we don't :) (not many Harlem apartment buildings do...lol) Looking forward to lots of sun and beer! Yum-o!

Other than getting together with friends, I don't have much planned. There is a Labor Day parade in town, and the big local event is The Thresheree-one of the oldest and largest antique tractor and steam engine shows in Wisconsin.

Probably visiting my parents' lake house this weekend -- on a miniscule lake in Deep East Texas, but it's still a lake! With a sundeck and a grill. :)

I'm a family kinda chick - my family is having a labor day weekend party on Saturday, and I just found out today from my cousin that we are all invited. I've been around my family more this year than ever before in my life!

Every labor day weekend in our small town we have a celebration called the Bigfoot Jamboree. It has been traditional here for many, many years. During the weekend many former residents, people who grew up here, and tourists converge on the town. There are dances on Friday and Saturday nights. I'm pleased to say I'm going to be off work all weekend and may go browse around the park to see what's happening there this year. On Monday I'll have to work again, holiday or not.

Cleaning house, one of my friends is going to help us paint the inside of our home, maybe take a sail in our boat. My daughter is going away for the weekend so not much reason to do much here with just the two of us.

On Saturday, I'll be directing a couple of the "vignettes" in preparation for the "Barbara Bull Memorial Cemetery Walk" in October... But, on SUNDAY, Hubby, a friend and I are going TO THE BIG 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SUMMER OF LOVE IN GOLDEN GATE PARK!!! Yaaaaayyyy!!! ;o)

We'll have my hubby's 10 year old daughter for 3 whole days. (Not the norm, even in the summer.) So, although I'm not sure what, we're going to pack the weekend with activities. Sigh. That is if my fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue will let it be so...

Tonight after school I'm going to Sam's club with my mother, then coming home to clean up my dorm and do some studying. In the morning, I'm going home, taking care of church issues and clean up my old room some more. Sunday, I'll go to church, come back to my dorm-home, and then Monday the girls and I are going 'round town and finding all twelve boots to take our pictures with them. Our city is turning 150 this year, so they have set up 12 six-foot tall boots around the city....

Just some fun stuff to do...

Labor Day makes me a little sad. When my parents were still alive seems there was always a barbecue, picnic or outing going on. Now, I'm in San Antonio, 1500 miles from my nearest relative. I did have an invite to Tucson but I'll spend have the weekend working on project close-out and the other half listing new employer prospects since I think I worked myself right out of employment.......

We are shoping for graphic teshirts for our nephew on Sat as well as working in the yard. On Sunday we will try to finish the remodeling of our Spiderman bathroom. More on that later. I always watch the Labor Day MDA telathon. On Monday we will be celebrating or niece's eighth birthday.

I spent my three day weekend celebration doing as little as possible. We went to the Santa-Cali-Gon-days festival, and there we got to meet Larry Sellers, who played Cloud Dancing on Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. He was very interesting, quiet and reserved. Did a little BBQ, and caught up on my homework. I am working on my Masters, and competing against 20 something's with lots of energy. Tomorrow it is back to work, must remember to set the alarm.
