I am Icarus, carving the sky.
I fall singing as the ocarina;
deformed, yet caressing the wind
that knows my careless fate
A fate at once careening
out of control,
yet held fast by the jeweled
carcan of bondage.
From the escarpment
springs all hope,
as the carcajou must
before the carbine’s fury
Hard and dark as a carbonado,
the night shows me its cardinal points;
as though even the blackness
would had done with me
I remain a caret,
even to the dwindling light
where once I danced,
carousing until morning.
Is it true then?
Am I caricature of human kind?
A carpetbagger in my own life?
I am Icaraus, and as much a fool.

You wrapped your theme up quite well with the last stanza and that last line is one of the best lines I've seen! Best Wishes to you in the tournament!
"I am Icaraus, and as much a fool." (Superb)
