In the early 90s I used to have very long hair - I hadn't cut it in over three years so it was as long as it was going to get.
One day I was making a paper mache Big Foot head as a prop for a cable access movie (he gets his head cut off by a lumberjack with a chainsaw - ha ha).
I wondered what to do about the hair. I didn't want to spend ANY money (didn't have any back then, either), and crepe hair looks so fake, anyway. So I put my hair in a tight ponytail and cut it off back there, and, WAH-LA, I had all the hair I needed.
And it looked SO REAL - because it WAS!
It's nice to be able to grow your own artist materials.

Too much work.
Who wants to look like an old hippie? (not me, anyway)
When I was younger I was very concerned about looking as fabulous as I was. Now I'm content just being fabulous inside my head - and in my novels.
It took too long to dry after washing it.
Just curious, does it really stop growing after three years?
