Hubby's trip to Baffin Island keeps getting postponed..... was to leave late tonight... now it's late tomorrow night....!

Hope his return doesn't keep getting delayed too, once he finally gets up there!

I'm at the college library right now; printing off info for my meeting with my prof re: what to do about graduate school... but I think I might have found a solution I could live with.... maybe....  it's in Toronto ....which is less than ideal as I really do not like TO and you couldn't pay either of us enough to live there -  the commute would probably be too long to go from here.... unless it could be arranged so that I'd only have to go 2-3 days/week.... but we could potentially figure something out if it turned out to be my best option

Best of all is that it has a MA in English focused on Creative Writing - AND a PhD program to continue on into. 

Anyway ...will talk to Jane and see what she says...and continue applying to whatever... no guarantees that I will get into anything (although my marks are up there and I do have good contacts & letters of recommendations, so can't see why I wouldn't get into SOMETHING)

Time to go drop $300+ at the bookstore.... everyone is using anthologies this semester it seems - that bites, as when they just tell us which books, I can usually get em for free.... or at least for cheap!  Oh well.... *sigh*

I like the anthologies! Particularly Norton - there are great supplements for most of those as well! : ) (for the lazy student)

bought them today ..... got all my books for my Barrie courses... don't have any info re: the Sudbury course yet so those will have to wait

I'm with you on the complaints about the cost of textbooks!! But hey, I got off with under $300 this semester!! Pretty good, I thought.
Get that novel out of your system, and best of luck in moving on to that PhD!!

I don't understand why you are purchasing books if you are not even in a program, I think i t would be wise to wait and see exactly what your particular program is asking for.

I am, Carol .... doing my last year of my under-grad (BA Honours English Literature) .... got 5 courses this semester and next..... looking at grad school options for Sept 08 ...first app is due Sept 14... then the rest are due around the end of the year
