In Over Her Head

...just when you thought it was safe to fall in love...

When Erica Peck, one terrified-of-the-ocean marina owner, finds herself at the bottom of the sea conversing with a merman named Reel, she thinks she's died and gone to her own version of Hell. When the Oceanic Council demands she and Reel retrieve a lost cache of diamonds from the resident sea monster in return for their lives, she knows she's died and gone to Hell.

When they escape the monster and end up on a deserted island, she amends her opinion - she's died and gone to Heaven.

But when Reel sacrifices himself to allow her to return to her world, she realizes that, Heaven or Hell, with Reel, she's In Over Her Head.

Judi, that is a great overview! I have gone through probably 6 drafts of mine, learning as I go. Where did you go to get help? I live in the boonies and writing groups are few and far between and the few in my area, go "spit, spit, ROMANCE?!! Yeck!" Never mind romance is a multi-million dollar genre. Heck, even Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, have romance in them. Sigh.

A friend of mine suggested gather to me and boy howdy I have learned quite a bit. He, yes HE, read my story Beyond The Shadow of Fear, along with his wife, and suggested I enter it. And he knows I am discouraged in my shopping for Agent. But any suggestions regarding a query or overview would be great, if you have the time.

I could swear that I read this and commented on it somewhere. If I did not, apologies, because I truly enjoyed it. I'm a new member of The Book Nook and you can see my latest article, written just for other Book Nook members (although I may tailor it to the rest of Gather as well), writing about books I've read lately and my work as a book reviewer.
