The Big Race (story by my Grandgirl Kelsey)

  One day at school a 15 year old girl named Morgan was walking in the hall on her way to class. Her P.E. teacher stopped her from walking to where she was suppose to go. Her P.E. teacher wanted to talk to her about the race. She said, ''Morgan you're really doing a great job in P.E. so I was wondering if you wanted to be in the race. Why? asked Morgan. Because your the most athletic kid in the whole school! Only two other people are going to be in the race with you. Ya, who? replied Morgan. Um, Kaleigh & Megan. Oh, okay, said Morgan.  Morgan you should start practicing because the race is in two days. In two days!? shouted Morgan. Yes, replied Ms. Stone. Morgan ran to the back of the school to practice for the big race. Two days passed & Morgan, Megan, & Kaleigh were so excited about the big race the morning they went to school. Ms. Stone came up to the girls and asked them how excited they were. They said that they were as excited as a wild chicken! Ms. Stone laughed her pants off. She said remember ladies the race starts in an hour. Oh, Ms. Stone what are the prizes for the race? asked Morgan. Well, 1st place is a Gold Medal, 2nd place is a Silver medal, & last but not least 3rd place is a Bronze Medal! Okay, said Morgan, Megan, & Kaleigh. The hour went by really quickly said Morgan. It's 9:00! Time for the race girls, said Ms. Stone. Morgan, Megan, & Kaleigh ran down to the track. They said ''Positions everyone.'' Morgan, Megan, & Kaleigh got into their place. The referee blew his whistle, off the runners went! At first Morgan was in the lead. A person caught up to her, then another, then another, she knew she was in trouble so she tried to go faster. One of the kids tripped her up but she caught herself. ''Thank goodness'' said Ms. Stone. Morgan finally got up to first place again! It looked like she was going to win! There's only a couple more feet to go. Morgan won by a landslide! The croud went wild. They placed the winners on the stand in order. First was Morgan, then second place was Kaleigh, and with Third place Megan! Everybody threw a party then said congrats to the winners and gave all three of them a certificate of accomplishment.
