Sorry, but this is going to be a rant. If you do not wish to read a rant, please skip this.
I am quite annoyed by the television commercial that Kia is running to promote one of their new cars. The "Save the greenbacks" commercial features a large group of very earnest environmentalist types in neoprene wetsuits on a sandy beach feverishly and gently collecting dollar bills. So it's sort of a salute to their discount sales program, but at at the same time it takes a slap at the earnestness of environmentalists. Basically we are supposed to have a laugh at the people who try to save the turtles on beaches, right? I mean, how lame to care about armored reptiles when car companies and money are the only things that really matter in life?
Take your car and shove it, Kia. It's nice that it gets good mileage, but the main point of good mileage is to hand a liveable planet to our grandkids, not to pad your bottom line. Well, I wasn't going to buy your car in the first place. Now I would not even consider it.
