The Crazy world of Illegal Immigration logic

I was reading an article about how two counties in virgiana are going to deny services to Illegal Aliens.  In Response:

 "Hispanic activists are planning a weeklong boycott of all non-immigrant, non-Hispanic businesses in Prince William County beginning Monday and a one-day general labor strike in October."


I just don't understand how people can really get worked up when people deny services to Illegal Aliens who are not entitled to them.

I agree there. I do think that if a person escapes from a country (as in Cuba, for instance) where they cannot live freely or have half a chance to make something of themselves for themselves or their children, they should be able to stay once they fight to make it here. But until they go through the ropes of citizenship and all, I don't think they deserve benefits from the coffers of our government.

I love when they make these threats, Why dont they think of what will happen. The police should be there waiting to cart off all the ones that are here illegal.

Doesn't this smell like racism Modern, it does to me. Allright compadres we're not going to do any business unless its hispanic. Personally I'm glad. I'd like to "see" seven days a week without an illegal. Ten to Win.
Your link isn't working so it's difficult for me to evaluate the statement made. However, economic boycott is a classic tool. What is the difference between this and the Montgomery boycott?

And finally, what is the difference between Cuba and half the countries in Latin America and Africa, Mary M. -- other than our convenient political policies?

I think the Differnece Elizabeth is that the Montgomery boycott were Americans being treated badly. Illegal Aliens have no right to be here, they should go back home if they need government services

Realistically if we gave a home to everyone just because their country sucks and America is better, we better build more homes because at last count there are over a BILLION in need!

And we can't say OK, OK we'll just do it for the columbians or africans or mexicans because that will be racist!

By the way here may be a reason for LEGAL immigration, do ya think?

I would also expect them to boycott the non-immigrant, non-Hispanic health care system, as well as all non-immigrant, non-Hispanic tax payer paid for services, food stamps, housing etc.

Hmm. Black people were being denied the opportunity to enjoy the liberties that being a legal American citizen offered. I don't see illegal immigrants being forced to sit in the back of any buses, I don't see them being forced to attend substandard schools, I don't see them being forced to drink from "illegal immigrant" only water fountains, I don't see "strange fruit" hanging from trees.

So, put that comparison back on the shelf. I see the difference. And, I assure you I'm not the only one.

How long before this continued slap in the face to America wakes up the sleeping giant and people who are here illegally, behave illegally while here, get deported (for good)?
I can't believe someone tried to compare what black people went through in this country to what the illegals are forcing on us, that is a complete and total lack of understanding of the situation!

Elizabeth...this is the difference, if they enter our country illegally, nothing. If they enter our country the right way, by waiting in line, playing by the rules, everything. As far as the sleeping giant...it stirs..last June in spite of support by the leadership of both parties in the Senate and strenuous lobbying by the President the 'comprehensive' amnesty bill went down in flames. Not once, but TWICE. This happened as a result of a tsunami of grassroots opposition. These illegall colonists are about to understand what Japanese Admiral Yamamoto Isoriku felt when he uttered that phrase after the attack on Pearl Harbor. God bless the United States of America and God bless Congressman Tom Tancredo, the next President.

A few years ago - well, almost 10, I guess - I looked into moving from the U.S. to Canada. At that point, they required that a person have $10,000 at their disposal, or a job waiting on the other side. And yet we just look the other way when anyone comes in. Even if they originally get here legally, we don't follow up when their visas expire, when they stop going to school. We don't punish when they commit crimes and don't hunt them down when they don't show up for immigration hearings. Amazing.

This all boils down to the same presumptuous nature that forced the Illegals out of Mexico. Were illegal so we will show you. There was a grocery store that was owned by a long time resident here where I live. It was bought by a group of hispanics and now there is a Mexican Flag and red white and green banners flying in the parking lot in front of the store. I haven't stepped in the store since. If we Americans would pull our heads out and start boycotting there businesses from here on out how long would it be before they would dry up and blow back to Mexico. Think about it. We are our own worst enemy in the Illegal Imigration issue.

"Hispanic activists" ? The Chicago Sun Times is too big a newspaper to be indulging
in this kind of inferior, if not slanted, journalism. Which "Hispanic activists" ? Are they
all Hispanic, and if so, so what ? Are these "activists" representing "Hispanics" (yeah right !), or an agenda favoring illegal immigration, with a lot of non-Hispanics involved in the planning stages.
Who are the "Hispanic activists" ? La Raza, LULAC, MEChA ? This typical
Associated press trite. Remember when the AP told us about all the HO HO "jobs" the
Bush administration was creating just prior to the 2004 election. A little digging under the AP surface, easily showed the AP figures were a farce.
Fact is, most Hispanics do NOT support illegal immigration and in now way would be involved in this boycott stupidity.

Last year - there was a day without Latinos. I thought it was a great exercise because I live in a city with many Latinos. I don't know if this boycott will work or not because it is tied to the immigration issue. There isn't much movement with respect to illegal immigrant's rights.

There's quite a bit of movement with repect to illegal immigrants "rights". That is, their right to get the hell out of here, and go back where they came from.
