I believe you either believe in God or you don't. I believe you either believe in Jesus or you don't. Many people believe that others put off a decision figuring they can live it up and sin and put off the decision until they are at the end of their life. The flaw in that theory is that you could step off the curb tomorrow and be hit by a bus and instantly die or you could have a heart attack in your sleep and go from this world to the next without an opportunity to do that. I believe if you believe you don't put it off. What do you believe, do you think people put it off, figuring they will accept Jesus when they are on their deathbed? Have you put it off a decision for later in your life?

If so, then if you are hit by a bus, won't he still accept you...
As for my beliefs, I hold them close and personal to me.
Ha ha - of course there's a fat chance of that.
Information is so vast, varied, and confusing.
I love religion mostly for the history of ideas that it is (and I love a Vivaldi Mass). As far as what religion a person is in their life - it seems mostly determined by what epoch and/or place they lived in. I suppose I can't complain about being raised a right wing Lutheran in the modern U.S.A. since I wasn't raised in an Aztec place and time or something with human sacrifice - oh gross.
If there's a God She'll have to just forgive me for having read too many books on the subject. They weren't conclusive at all.
I believe God made us, we are all his creation, we were born with a sinful nature. Jesus provided the path to so we could reconcile with God. I don't think God is a sin accountant, I think Satan isthat as he is the accuser.
Zechariah 3:1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. .
I believe God loves all of us, despite our sins.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
The only sin the Bible mentions that cannot be forgiven is
Matthew 12:31 Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven.
God knows our hearts. It is our hearts that he is interested in. I don't know what will happen to any one hit by a bus, I am not God. I can not determine who he will have mercy on or who he won't. I just have heard talk about death bed confession and I wonder what other people thought. I believe each of us has our own path with God, it is our own choice, our own decision, no once can make anyone believe anything. I don't agree with those who think it is their mission to "save" the world... I can't even save myself, how could I save another. My belief is in Jesus is what saves me, not anything I have ever done, because it is by his mercy.
Titus 3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
Anyone who is looking for an answer the bible says
Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
If you are looking for God, pray to him to reveal himself to you and guide you on the right path. No words can convince anyone of anything, it is a spiritual journey, not one of intellect. If I didn't have spiritual experiences, I wouldn't have belief.
I think we call God, God the father because that is what we were taught but I don't think God has a sex, why would he need one and who would he have sex with? And Why?
I respect religion but I consider myself someone with great faith. I think religion has it's place and to me is more hoops than anything else. I think one has to be careful when listening to others about the Bible, God will give you the understanding if you seek it.
If you follow what Jesus said
Mark 12: 29:31 Jesus answered, "The foremost is, HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD;AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH. The second is this, YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. There is no other commandment greater than these.
If you think about it, if you follow this you would not break the 10 commandments.
I think we get too hung up on sins and if we accept Jesus and allow him to work in our hearts we need not worry about sin, he will guide us.
Jesus did not come to the earth to bring religion, He came to provide a way - a bridge between us (our sin that separates us from God) and God Himself. We do not have the power to "save" people, we only have the means to spread the message (lead) -salvation is the work of the Holy Spirit.
I believe that God is our ultimate judge and jury...and therefore He is the only one who can decide what eternity holds for each and every single one of us. It is never too late to receive the gift of salvation. The problem with death bed confession or salvation is that, as you said, God knows our heart - and if someone is to wait until the very end when it is a "last resort" it may not be from the heart. I do not think that it is wise to wait.
If someone has known the truth throughout their life and has refused to accept it, I think that the chance is slim that it's really from the heart anyway...that's between the person and God though.
Thanks Kathleen, we know anyone at any time in their life make the decision to believe. It is hard to accept sometimes when it is someone who committed murder but God forgives even murder.
I have accepted Jesus as my Saviour. I have accepted that Jesus walked this earth, performed mircles, lived without sin, and died on the cross so we could be forgiven for our sins. He paid the price for our sins so we could be reunited with God. And only through believe in Jesus can we have salvation.
I know people put off accepting Jesus. Some seem to think they are too big of a sinner to be forgiven by God. God forgave David, He can forgive anyone. As long as they do not reject His Son.

The biblical version of a "deathbed confession" (Luke 23:39-43) shows that to fear God and call on His name brought the 3rd thief (being crucified with Christ) salvation.
