Where Was God?

When tragedy strikes, you hear people say,
"Where was God? He wasn't here today."
Why do you think God would do things so bad...
Do you think it would make him feel glad?
"God is for real, Satan's just a joke.."
is what life is like to so many folk.
Satan is real and causes much trouble..
Not with cauldrons and all the bubbles.
He just sends a message, a thought or two,
"You don't deserve what happened to you."
That's what begins so many tragedies,
Revenge blinds someone, so they can't see.
Most people just don't want to know,
That Satan put on a pretty good show.
They blame God for everything done...
They don't see he just isn't the one.
It plays into Satan's game so well,
Getting so many to march into Hell...
Not knowing "the joke" was really on them.
Their anger made reality grow so dim.
How do you think God feels about us,
if we run around and make a fuss...
blaming him for causing such pain?
It's nothing more than really a shame.
God sent us Jesus: he sent us his son,
He sent his beloved to reach everyone,
Jesus said in the Bible, it's so clear
"These are the things, I heard you did hear.
Listen to me and I'll straighten it out,
God loves you dearly without a doubt.
Believe and have faith, I'm here with you,
I'll give up my life out of love for you."
Jesus died to rise again and show,
how much God loves us, did you know?
Jesus went, he said, to prepare a place,
Where there will be love and no more hate.
So when all around you looks so dark,
Events happen that tug at your heart,
God didn't cause the things that are bad,
if you believe that, you have been had.

Thanks Margaret, This poem does NOT say God created tragedy and I am glad you don't think he does either. The second to last line says........ God didn't cause the things that are bad,
7I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Thanks Kathleen!
Thanks Dena, that is very interesting, I never heard it put that way before. I never saw that verse. I have always identified with Job that my love for God has been tested through the hard times of my life and that I have been shaped and molded by my experiences to what God desires.
