The first politician to be featured on GQ since 1992,
(Al Gore and Bill Clinton), it's a telling sign:
It's Barack Time!
"There's this assumption that there's only one way of being black.
That if you are not conforming to a certain pattern of behavior, that somehow you may not be authentic enough. . .

( It's Barack Time!)

. . .Those of
us in African-American culture know that
there's as much diversity in the
African-American community as there is in any community."
~Senator Barack Obama

That's true. When that thing first came out we (Obama supporters) talked about it. My feeling was that the girl needed to go take a shower or find a boyfriend, after all Obama is a married, family man, and we need nothing even closely resembling the taint of the Ms. Monica (Lewinsky) and Mr. Bill affair.
We having an Obama barbecue shortly. Elizabeth, you have no idea how much I wish you were here to attend it. It's a family event, so you could have brought your little girl, too. And, you don't need to be an Obama supporter (I don't know who you support), but maybe another time, another family event? Seriously.
I liked the quotes posted in this article.
Oh, yes he truly rock. he jams, he gets down -- he seems to be able to relate to the people, period. I find it interesting how young people are excited about him. The ones I have spoken with are ignited and excited about this upcoming election; I am speaking of 17 and 18 year olds, who will -- of course be eligible, and voting for the first time in a presidential election.
Elizabeth and K: I will get back to you on D.C. connections in a minute.
K: I am so happy to hear that about that girl. She wasn't doing the Obama family any favors with that video. I know I wouldn't be thrilled to see someone playing up to my dad like that, so I am glad she is backing off, but why turn around and attack Mitt Romney? He is a family man, too.
Jeff:
You always seem to surprise me, but not about the polls. I already knew the polls were prematurely forecasting inaccurate data. As the time of elections nears, let's see what they show then. Oh, I almost forgot, I participated in one poll, and Obama's name wasn't even mentioned as a choice in the poll. The only Democratic choices were Edwards, Richardson, and Clinton. How can polls substantiate their data if their aren't providing ALL the choices available to make selections. See the bias there? Then, when they publish their findings, how can Obama, Kucinich, Biden, Gravel, or Dodd stand a chance when they weren't even offered as options for which to selected. Polls, like statistics are biased.
Unfortunately so many people vote for the "favorite" and that's why biased polls are so valuable to politicians who are connected (like being married to an ex-president).
Why do I surprise you?
To be in a family of Democrats and to be a Libertarian cannot be easy.
But why do people place so much credence in polls? Obviously, they can be manipulated -- isn't that common sense? I don't understand that. The one I took was so obviously biased I almost didn't take it, but at the end, where they gave space for comments I gave them a good talking to, and let them know what I thought about their "poll". I guess that is why it is best to always consider the polling source, yes?
...and don't make me write several comments -- go over to my other comments. I am waiting with baited breath to hear your answer to whom and why you would want to go back in time to visit!
Nalita polls are presented by the mainstream media and trusted. No, many people don't understand the vested financial and political interest that comes along with mainstream media and politics.
Thanksgiving and Christmas gets heated. I converted my youngest brother and my sister and the rest of the family won't soon forgive me for that. We are all Americans and family so in the end it really doesn't matter. I will admit I was close to kicking my oldest brothers Butt once but he is up there in the kook fringe if you catch my drift....hehe.
There you go with the namecalling again. I don't believe you can convert anyone, though, Jeff. I do believe you can exchange ideas and they may -- through that exchange -- make their own decision about what they want. Families, I think, are very forgiving. That is the beauty of family. They have probably already forgotten what you deem unforgiveable. Then you would consider "kicking your brother's butt" over an ideological difference? You are good at pulling our legs, I am sure of that. You are too funny! Football is definitely the right game for you!
Jason, or should I say, JJ -- it's JJ time, IF JJ behaves! Right? Oh, and help me to recall -- just WHO is "Boo"?
Lainie:
When I first saw that magazine, it was the first time I saw Senator Obama as a man and not as a candidate. I almost -- key word being "almost" felt like that infamous, silly, starstruck "Obama girl". I do see what she sees. But, Senator Obama is so absolutely brilliant, such a charismatic insightful, powerful leader, a visionary with such a keen and 21st century preparedness to lead this country that one becomes taken with that, with his WORDS, with his message -- just listening and envisioning where he wants to go and HOW he will do it.
Poor thing (the little UTube girl). Even if she had plastic surgery to look like Michelle Obama, she couldn't match her sophistication, her brains and charm. Michelle and Jackie Kennedy Onassis are just in different leagues than so many.
Thanks, all!
