My most memorable travel trip would have to be two years ago when I flew to Germany to visit my mother's family. My mother died from pancreatic cancer in 2001 and all her family continues to live in Germany. I flew on British Airways out of NYC and was scheduled to fly the first day of the Iraq war! Talk about security but I had no problems and I was very happy flying on British Airways. I arrived in Frankfurt, Germany where my 7 foot tall Uncle picked me up and wisked me to Weisbaden, Germany where they live. Arriving in an hour my Aunt fed me breakfast and off we took for walking tour of Weisbaden. Every day was an adventure and I saw many beautiful sights, castles and landmarks. My Uncle took me one day to a winery on the Rhine and we enjoyed dinner and wine of course. Then it was time to take a trip to Bad Worishofen (which is on the base of the Bavarian Alps) where my Aunt and Uncle live. When they say they are nuts on the Autoban.. they are right! It was a very short 3.5 hour trip. Arriving in Bad Worishofen was everything I had dreamed of and more. I had not seen my Aunt since I was 16 and she was stunned that I looked so like her sister. This visit was much more relaxing and laid back. We toured Bad Worishofen which is known for its marvel of water therapy and the theory that water will make you heal (we're talking plan H20 here people!) One day we explored Munich which is a delightful town and we went to the Opera (where my Aunt promptly fell asleep!). I took the train back to Weisbaden and it was a delightful tour through the countryside. Alas my trip ended and I returned to the states but I do plan another trip soon!

I spent a long weekend in Florence one November - that was amazing, too!
I have been to the airport in Brussels, Belgium - does that count? LOL
And several Cities from Centtral to Eastern Canada as a kid thru to young adulthood.
Some of these I will probably write about once I find the negatives for those trips and get them scanned in! Living in an Art History book is what parts of Europe were like!
