Another kid while out running for his high school is missing and presumed dead after he ran into high running water. He was swept away. How do we tell our kids it's just not worth the short cut. Please warn everyone you know.
That is really sad. I can't believe all the flooding that is everywhere around me...Wisconsin, Ohio and even parts of Illinois. We have not seen any rain at all-and everything is simply burning up. I guess I should just be grateful we aren't having what you are.
that's terrible, sorry this has happened. My daughter was living in texas and I was so worried about her she was close to the floods. They moved back a few weeks ago.
How sad. This weather we are having is nuts. My husbands has a landscaping company and he said that every one of his accounts has standing water in the yard. We are getting more rain today and tonight. That's 4 to 5 days now that we've had rain. Usually we take a vacation this time of year becasue the dog days in Aug are typically too hot for the grass to grow, or to plant anything. We haven't been able to get away even for the weekend. I guess the draughts are over nationwide?

Our Forest is slowly dieing off for lack of Rain, to many fires and bark beetles. It is sad to watch and I remember when these places were green and lush many years ago. :( Not any more. My prayers are with all of you getting to much rain and we would love for some of it to come our way. We would share to make it even out.
Such sad news, I agree with Ann R, So Cal is hot and dry right now and the bark beetles are eating up the trees here in the mountains making a higher fire danger because crews can't get them cleared fast enough.
Several hundred people went to the place he died and held a candle ceremony of remembrance for him. It is so sad that young teens think they are invincible..........and wind up leaving this life way too early. May God provide peace to his family and friends. Amen

The slogan "Turn Around, Don't Drown" is very prevalent. Even the local meteorologists repeat it whenever we have a lot of rain.
So sorry for this family.
